xparrot: Chopper reading (lex's evil switch)
And that's all she wrote! Well, of this. There will be more of others. Er. (I'm also vaguely tempted to do a follow-up to this, as the PG-13-ness of the resolution might frustrate...and the rest of the season might well frustrate even more, depending how it goes...but we'll see.)

I have to say thanks for the great reception this fic has gotten, I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed all the comments. I wrote "Contingencies" out of a dissatisfaction with the way the series has taken the Clark-Lex relationship, however predestined; it seems I'm not alone in my sentiments. Whether or not the end is what you expected, I hope it doesn't disappoint!

One part to go; let's see if I can finish it before "Nemesis" casts me into Clex-depression - considering so much of the story is about racing against the clock, it's only fitting that I'm writing with a deadline...

I really ought to be in bed, but hey, I figure we'll need something to help us through tonight's new ep...of course I won't get to see that until tomorrow. Crossing my fingers hoping this story and our OMG brilliant!!1!! Lex-nalysis doesn't get screwed to hell by revelations in upcoming canon. Or else if the story does, that folks like it anyway. I should have it completed before the next ep, anyway...meanwhile the sis and I are getting back into full analysis mode. It's the only way for our tiny obsessive brains to manage!

There's an estimate here for Dark Thursday's casualties that [livejournal.com profile] gnine thought was too low, but I argue is conceivable in a world protected by superheroes. Maybe it's much lower; as far as I can tell the show never gives any actual numbers. So, a total guess, unless someone has supported figures.

Will be continuing with "All the Difference" as soon as this is done. Which ought to be soon, there should be maybe 3 parts to go after this. So almost in time...is anyone else dreading the final SV eps, and what havoc they could potentially wreak on canon and chars, even as you look forward to them? What an odd fandom this is, for me, anyway...

Thanks to whoever gave my the virtual lj gift, what a sweet gesture, and I hope my fics continue to entertain! At present I especially hope this fic entertains, as it continues...

Yup, fic-spamming, like I said! So glad to know folks are interested, I'm not totally sure how I feel about this one myself. This is not a fluffy time in the show, and this is not exactly fluff. But I'm trying to keep to the current characterizations as well as I'm able, because then I can convince myself it could happen like this, if only (why am I not on the screenwriting staff? Oh yeah, because then I'd have to write Lana. And not so much Clex. Sigh!) Also it's my first time writing Chloe, and since I'm rather ambiguous about her char at the moment (I used to like her, but she's been driving me nuts this season - Martha's the same way, actually) I can't say how I'm managing.

Oh, and in answer to a couple comments, yes, this is very much based on the interpretations of Lex that I've been nattering on about. Hence the need to get it posted before all our theories are proved wrong!

I need to start posting this now, before the final eps of the season blow it completely out of the water. Hopefully I'll finish it before they start airing...hope no one minds a bit of fic spamming in the next couple weeks.

This is about my favorite non-futurefic SV scenario, which I've been wanting to try my hand at, though this...got a bit out of hand. It's the classic 'Lex turns up at the Kent farmhouse in dire straits', given a 6th season twist. This is not quite the story I was intending to write. I have a feeling it needs a warning, but I'm not exactly sure for what. Let's see: it's dark, it's angsty, it's sappy, and it may go shamelessly over the top in any of these directions. I can promise a light at the end of the tunnel, but it's going to be a long tunnel.

Major spoilers for the entire series, especially "Solitude" and "Vessel"/"Zod," and all of 6th season aired thus far.
