on why you should be reading the Vorkosigan books

The bro (who just finished "Labyrinth" and came up giggling, "Miles is a furry!") describes the entire series thusly: "Unstoppable force meets immovable object - and then they have a kid."

(I've finished Memory and started on Komarr - if Memory isn't my very favorite then it's definitely in the top 3 or so...I have such a hard time picking favorites, would need to reread the series to decide, but yeah, I totally get why everyone loves Memory - so much <3!)

*snicker* I love our brother! And yes, that is a rather accurate description...^_-

I haven't read the Vorkosigan books (yet -- I downloaded the first few ebooks on your recommendation!), but have you read the Amelia Peabody series of mysteries by Elizabeth Peters? (The first is Crocodile on the Sandbank.) It could be described rather similarly. ^__^ (Ramses!)

If you haven't, most definitely check out the first in the series, which is still one of my favorite books of all time.

The Vorkosigan books are the best! I think Miles gets much better with age.

I love Miles, but Cordelia is my favorite.

"Unstoppable force meets immovable object - and then they have a kid."

*cackles* Tell him I am stealing that, because I can never describe the series in a succinct way to new people. I end up flailing around and prefacing with Barrayar's history and then I've lost them.

Memory is amaaaaazing, definitely one of my favorites still. What did you think of Illyan and Lady Alys? *g* Have you gotten to A Civil Campaign yet?

(...Sorry, I know this is an old post, I swear I just came by to check on Thaw and then my not-so-inner MVK fangirl pounced.)
