Oh, yes, exactly - a big part of the draw of JiM was that it wasn't standard superhero, that it was much more mythological in feel, with epic quests and outwitting prophecies (and of course the killer wit!) Kid!Loki is more of a classic trickster than the old Loki, because he only has his wits and charm to rely on. But I think it will eventually have to return to something more status quo - especially because I doubt that many writers other than Gillen could pull it off. Kid!Loki in the hands of other writers isn't so effective, as seen in Thor, in which he tends to be either too young or have too much of an edge? One of the reasons I love JiM is because he is a sneaky little shit - he's still god of mischief and lies! - but he's also got enough compassion and urge for change to be sympathetic. It's a delicate balance, though, and not an easy one to write.
