As a longtime reader of Marvel and (less frequently) DC comics, I gotta say that being constantly confused and feeling like you missed parts of the story is definitely part of the whole experience. ^^;; However, I've now read your (awesome) recap and I'm glad I did -- especially since I would've missed out on Loki's resurrection and reunion with Thor otherwise!

Thor comes back to life, recreates the city of Asgard in small-town Oklahoma (this is as funny as it sounds)

LOL, I kinda almost want to read it just for this (especially since listening to my dad complain about Oklahoma, his ancestral state where he is currently living again, is a weekly event around here).

Never having been a Thor reader, I'm getting the general impression that the cracktastic tone and style of the movie (which I loved, BTW; despite going in with low expectations, it ended up being my favorite of the Avengers prequels along with the first Iron Man movie) is fairly accurate to the comics. XD The only Thor comic I remember reading from my 1980s Marvel-heavy days does nothing to counter this impression, since the plot (what I remember of it) involves Thor getting turned into a frog by one of the bad guys and, not being able to talk because he is a frog, has to communicate with people by writing things down with his little frog hands.

... also looking at Loki's horns in these scans makes me think that generations of Marvel artists must have cursed the original character designer who gave him those horns, because it looks like they are completely impossible to draw in accurate perspective from any angle. XDDD

Anyway, this was fun! And now I'm looking forward to my comics getting here!
