For the next post I'm planning to spit up the Thor and JiM bits, if you want to see more of kid!Loki in Thor (and I'll try to leave out JiM spoilers, or mark 'em if so! Planning on doing less plot and more just cute char bits anyway.)(Basically Thor and JiM run parallel, without that much overlap, but kid!Loki guests in Thor and Thor guests in JiM. The writers are different, though, and since Gillen's kid!Loki is 'my' version of the char, sometimes the Thor version gives me pause. Still has cute bits, though!)
The JMS- and Gillen-written Thor comics were quite good, I think worth a read? and Asgard is still in OK, so JiM has a bit of that as well (kid!Loki's interactions with regular Earth are some of my favorite bits in general ^^) And yes, crack - that is definitely part of the appeal! (ahahaha to the frog!Thor - I will have to look for that...!)
Actually I enjoy the Thor comics in general - I'd have tried them out sooner if I'd realized they were the actual Norse gods (or reasonable facsimiles thereof.) I'd thought they were just super-powered aliens or whatever, hadn't realized that they borrowed so much of the myth! Not until I saw the Thor movie - which yeah, is my favorite prequel along with Iron Man. It's so ridiculously OTT, just what I want in my superhero movies! (I can appreciate the new Batman movies and such, but yeah, bring on the cheese XD)(Also while I'm a crazy Loki fangirl, I appreciate that both the Thor and the Avengers movie make Loki somewhat sympathetic, but still the villain - sympathy for him did not come at the expense of the heroes. Unlike Smallville where sometimes I was siding with Lex against Clark, I'm not on Loki's side; I just love him anyway XD)
And Loki's horns ahahahah yes why??? (kid!Loki's costume is similar to Loki's costume at one point in the '80s; the horns seem to come and go...)
