For my fanon, the references I looked up for this were: claws (some talonned giant reptile that he calls a dragon and Da Qing calls a salamender), whip (sneaking around bad guys gone wrong), bullet (sneaking around police gone wrong), blade (did you fucking try to stop a mugging bare handed, Yunlan?), rip (fell out of a window while trying to do the walk of shame on a very very high profile woman and had to escape paparazzi), and cigarette burns (he *had* to stay awake).
