It's totally technobabble! Only it's semi-real technobabble? (maybe? I'm curious how accurate the show is...I'm sorta predisposed to think it's real just because it's a realistic show, which is silly, perhaps...I'm so used to watching SciFi knowing the science has to be bullshit for the sake of the plot, so just going along with it and smirking knowingly, yet I kinda expect my real-life dramas to stay realistic! Perhaps asking too much? Grant's derivatives are clearly pretty scifi, but they're a running joke more than a plot point...)

And oh, YES, Grant is the cuddleliest little derivatives expert ever! I keep wanting icons of half his expressions...(DH is just my age in the first couple seasons, too... ^^)
