Hmmm, no, I'm not expressing myself properly - I do not think the major conflict is between Rodney fans and John fans; I think the worst conflict here is intra-Rodney-fan. I am a Rodney fangirl who does not like McKeller; I know other Rodney fangirls who do like McKeller, and those are the fans I conflict with the most. The John fans (who have been somewhat slighted this season, with less John than usual) are mostly on the anti-McKeller side, but so are many Rodney fans. If anything, the McKeller conflict is bringing together John fans and Rodney fans...(though the John vs Rodney divide is more prevalent in the gen side of fandom anyway, as far as I've observed; the majority of slashers, like myself, love both of them even if they have a slight preference for one or the other.)
