If I put my slasher goggles on, I would think that the writers just can't decide if Rodney should fall for Keller or Sheppard XD In one ep, he's totally focused on Jennifer, in the next one, it's Sheppard only.

From a gen point of view, the writing is simply too inconsistent *sigh*
