xparrot: Chopper reading (muncle old skool)
Welcome to the future! (Keep an eye on Jupiter...)

Reveals are up for both Holiday exchanges I did - for the [livejournal.com profile] muncle Down the Chimney Affair, I did the following, indulging in classic h/c drama (big thanks to [livejournal.com profile] snarkydame for the last minute beta):

MFU: Save This Dance {~9,600 words} [read it on lj or on AO3]
PG-13; slash, h/c
Trouble on an assignment has Illya considering his newly changed relationship with Napoleon.

And for Yuletide I wrote Futurama fic, of all things. Eheh. Yeah. I'm so glad my recipient seemed to like it, even though the story itself started out Wrong and just got Wronger as it went along...I could blame that on her prompts, but while the pairings were her suggestions most of the rest were mine. Um. Warnings for non-graphic sex with arguably dubious consent, and crack (well, it's Futurama, what do you expect?)

Futurama: Be My Brussels Sprouts {~4,000 words}
PG-13; het, slash?
Concerning jealousy, proper robot maintenance, and the hazards of unprotected interspecies relationships.

Also for Yuletide I got another gift for The Abyss, which was just the Bud/Lindsey schmoop I asked for - squee!: One-Way Ticket. Which makes 3 out of my 4 Yuletide wishes filled, all in wonderful ways - eeee! Had a marvelous time, will definitely have to join in next time!

Also in Yuletide, haven't had as much chances to browse as I'd like, but I did find "Epilogue, Part II", a fic for Bruce Coville's My Teacher Is an Alien series, which is pure happy-making (if frustrating because I thought I had the books with me and it turns out I don't...where'd they go? sigh!) (I also think I saw fic for John Bellairs, which is happy-making just that it exists! The Johnny Dixon series I do have with me...)

Otherwise have been recovering from holiday madness by vegging out on TV (currently alternating Criminal Minds with Xena, which is fairly complementary, as camp is a good antidote for darkness-overdose and vice versa). (on s4 of CM - great show, even if it is dark, and I adore all the chars pretty equally (even if I do keep trying to figure out how to make Penelope/Derek viable in my head, because yeah, I can see why they aren't like that, why their relationship works as it is, but they would be SO CUTE zomg) - and s1 of Xena - my first time watching it, excepting one ep; even this early on Xena/Gabrielle is adorable, and provides the female-friendship I've been craving...)

And watched Doctor Who last night. Still processing that.
xparrot: (b5 shadow)
Finally finished something new! I started this one over the summer, only just got it done. And I can has writted sexings! ...Erm. Rather ridiculous sexings. MUNCLE brings out my silliest slash impulses.

MFU: Significant Effect {~9,000 words}
R/NC-17 for explicit consensual and slightly ridiculous sex; Napoleon/Illya, Illya/others
Illya is going to drive Napoleon crazy. One way or another.

'I have had sex before. It's not like that.' )

xparrot: Chopper reading (sga team meal)
Have done a batch of ficlets for my open "drabble" season (though not a single true drabble among them.) Still working on the others (and yup, it's still open, if you're interested.)

I have learned two things from this: one, my flist is inspiringly creative and also nuts (oh, the crossovers! <3 you guys) and two, I write for way too many series. Some of these characters I haven't hung out with for a while; was fun to drop by...

Gen and slash, humor and other; comment-fic, 100-800 words

SGA, One Piece, SGA/One Piece, NCIS, MUNCLE, Who/Numb3rs, Saiyuki )
xparrot: Chopper reading (Default)
I wrote! New fic! Go me! Even if it is ridiculous fic. Initially inspired by a [livejournal.com profile] mfuwss discussion on our favorite secret agents' living spaces, and plotted on the journey back to America in collusion with [livejournal.com profile] gnine, who came up with half the pranks. It's slash (which, for me, seems to involve Napoleon having sex with lots of women. Yeah, I dunno. It's all in good fun?)

(Oh, and I drabbled again.)

MUNCLE: For Every Action {~6,000 words}
PG-13; slash, humor
A man's home is his castle, and Napoleon and Illya are laying siege on one another in a fierce, relentless, and very silly war of retribution.

( Illya rarely invited people over to his apartment... )
xparrot: Chopper reading (Default)
Classic, absurdly indulgent h/c, because [livejournal.com profile] gnine asked for it, plotted on the nighttime streets of Hanoi a couple weeks ago. If you've read my fic in other fandoms, you might well have already read this story - with other characters, and there's sand instead of snow, and hyperthermia instead of hypo-, but really, same difference. My only defense is that for a series that lends itself to outrageous h/c, I haven't gotten as much as I'd like in MUNCLE...

As is my wont with h/c, this is noodling right on the edge of gen; you could call it smarm, or pre-slash, whichever. (I tried to keep it gen, but Napoleon was...uncooperative...) And much thanks to [livejournal.com profile] gnine, [livejournal.com profile] utopiantrunks, and [livejournal.com profile] naye for shared cheerleader/beta duties!

MFU: Sand Trap {~13,000 words}
PG, gen, h/c, action/adventure
Injured and pursued by THRUSH, Illya and Napoleon must survive a trek through the Sahara to get vital information to U.N.C.L.E. in time.

xparrot: Chopper reading (muncle gaze)
In three weeks I leave Japan, moving back to the States. Coming back from Vietnam a couple weeks ago it really hit me, that it was our last time flying back into Kansai International, at least for a while.

[livejournal.com profile] gnine and I have been sharing this apartment in Kyoto for over three years. I'm going to miss it. I'm going to miss Japan. I don't know yet what I'm doing in America, but I've got a pretty stable set-up, so I'm not too worried about that. But I don't deal well with change, as a rule, and moving...it's a big change.

Not to mention I have three years of accumulated junk to sort through. Ah, the joys of packing!

So instead of dwelling on that...or getting down to the sorting...I'm writing Gnine ridiculous MUNCLE h/c. And go here for a very silly drabble, concerning Napoleon's particular expression on those occasions when Illya gets the Innocent.

(Also a lovely person recced my lone NCIS fic on [livejournal.com profile] crack_van, which means I've been getting new comments on it all day. This has made me unreasonably happy, as recs and comments always do. My ego-monster, she is (briefly) satiated...)
xparrot: Chopper reading (muncle old skool)
(So~, does anybody have a Dreamwidth invite burning a hole in their virtual pocket?) Sankyuu~!

Today was a ficcing day. Short and quite silly; sweet if I'm lucky and maybe a little hot (if I'm really lucky). Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] gnine for the quick read-through, as well as for the deep and meaningful (okay, shallow and punchdrunk) discussion late last night (okay, early this morning) that led to the idea in the first place.

MFU: Discretionary Powers {~2,300 words}
PG-13; Napoleon/Illya slash; first-time, fluff
U.N.C.L.E. effects a change in policy, and Illya takes advantage.

( "I have just heard from Mr. Waverly," Illya said. "Subsection C of Rule 37 has officially been rescinded from the U.N.C.L.E. Code of General Conduct." )
xparrot: Chopper reading (muncle old skool)
This is slash, but the sex is het. Yeah, I don't know. Blame Napoleon. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] utopiantrunks for catching my typos, the [livejournal.com profile] little_details comm for Russian advice, and Wikipedia and Google Maps for the rest.

MFU: Sublimierung {~3,100 words}
PG-13 (non-explicit sex); het, slash
"I'm sorry you're missing your date," Illya said, at four thousand feet over the South China Sea.

( She started work in U.N.C.L.E. New York, Research section, on Monday; Napoleon had his social calendar cleared by Wednesday evening. )
xparrot: Chopper reading (muncle old skool)
Tagged again, but this time, I seem to have slashed. Oops? (Sorry! It's all [livejournal.com profile] gnine's fault!) ...Only I cheated, because this is a PWP that is missing the actual sex. Sorry to everyone else! Writing erotica is an extreme challenge for me, so with a silly little story like this, I just...er...skipped it. When you hit the dreaded asterisks, use your imagination XP

This one's a tag to "The Arabian Affair," which is sheer farce, but on the other hand, gorgeous Illya is gorgeous, and I am such a sucker for Napoleon searching for his partner.

MFU: Temporarily Inactive {~2,200 words}
PG-13; slash, humor; tag to 2x07 "The Arabian Affair"
"Then prove it," Napoleon said, and that was all the warning he gave.

Twenty-three hours after their return to America, Illya was released from the hospital. The doctors supplied him with a cane and insisted that he rely on it for the next week. While in sight of the hospital, Illya took this instruction to mean, and left the cane in Napoleon's backseat when they reached his apartment.
xparrot: Chopper reading (Default)
Another ep tag, and hardly more than a ficlet, indulging [livejournal.com profile] gnine, who craved more Illya h/c at the end of "The Concrete Overcoat Affair."

MFU: Island Getaway {~2,300 words}
PG; gen, h/c; missing scene from the end of 3x12 "The Concrete Overcoat Affair, Part 2"
"There's just one thing--we better leave before the bombers get here."

Illya is my new beloved, the object of my latest obsession. So, naturally, this story is...all about Napoleon. Well, and Illya, of course, because, you know, two sides of the same coin and all that. But Napoleon Solo is like John Sheppard, in that to make sense of his character, you have to suspect there is some fascinating stuff going on inside his head.

It's a tag to "The Gurnius Affair" - I suspect one of dozens of tags written over the years of the fandom. Hundreds, maybe. This episode might well have induced the spontaneous invention of the very concept of a tag-fic in many a budding fangirl. (If you don't watch/don't remember, this is the ep where Illya goes undercover as a neo-Nazi and has to torture Napoleon to preserve his cover, and then there is absolutely ZERO RESOLUTION WHATSOEVER.)

So. Resolution. And angst. And no slash, except what you want to see. (It's gen the way most of my gen is gen.) And a dash of (unresolved) het, because really, this is Napoleon Solo we're talking about.

MFU: Making Perfect {~8,000 words}
PG; gen, angst; tag to 4x11 "The Gurnius Affair"
Four years is a long time. But this is not Napoleon's decision to make anyway.
