SPN 2x10

Oh, this show. This show! Fanfic, I tell you. Fanfic. They have abandoned most pretenses of horror and suspense in favor of going straight for the angst jugular, and I for one am loving it.

As [livejournal.com profile] friendshipper also noted, I liked how the boys were a little lighter at the end, falling back into their old byplay for a bit. How Sam can even joke about it, because he trusts his brother that much. I am totally loving Sam this season, coming to terms with everything so he can be there for his brother.

When the hunter left Dean to go make sure Sam was really dead, I was warning him to put a bullet in Dean's head first. Because, note to any other psychic-demon-soldier hunters out there - if you kill Sam Winchester without a damn good reason, you sure as hell better kill Dean, too. Or else you might very well create a monster that could end your kind...

Also, while I'm still not much for Jo, let me just state for the record that I love Ellen. The boys need a mommy so bad and she's just the hard as nails sweet as honey awesome woman for the job. And Eva was my favorite BotW yet, beating out even the "we are so breaking up" Asylum chick. The pop rocks suicide line killed me. I was depressed by the end, dammit!

Now, where is my hug? Hmmm? The bit of touching here was lovely but I'm still patiently waiting...

Oh, I love Ellen! I really do! And her comment about family made me warm and fuzzy, because the boys really are that to her. In fact, I love the whole roadhouse -- both the idea of it, and the fact that when the boys need help they don't go to some wimpy computer geek in the city like every other TV show out there: they have a mullet-bearing computer redneck and a gun-toting bartender mama instead!

And I'm totally with you on loving Eva or Ava or whatever her name was. (btw, I know this is probably a stupid question, but what's BotW?) She reminded me a little of Kaylee on Firefly or Willow on Buffy, and I've always liked those sorts of characters -- ditzy yet smart and sweet. I was bummed at the end too! I would have liked to see her stick around a little. ... well, I guess she probably IS going to stick around for a little while, but I don't really want her as a Winchester-hunting demon chick, darn it ...

It's probably a good indication of how much this episode hit my sweet spots that I'm really craving the next one now. The end of Croatoan didn't really do that, despite the cliffhanger, because the episodes leading up to it (though certainly good) had been such a giant bummerfest in so many ways. I didn't expect any resolution from this episode and I didn't expect anything more than more darkness. Instead we got THIS lovely thing! Now I want the next one very much!

Ah, I gotta stop making obscure fandom refs. BotW is "Babe of the Week", we used it all the time in Sentinel fandom, not so much anywhere else. Until I got into SPN ^^ Is it Eva or Ava? anyone know? I was hearing "Eva" but...anyway, she was funny and sweet and I'm already hoping they'll save her. Don't think it's that *likely*, but...hoping!

And yes, with you all the way - next ep nooooow, plzkthx! Right now, given their track record, any ep they give us is pretty much guaranteed to be chock-full of the brotherly stuffs - whee!
