SGA fic: more Pern-fic! oh noes!

So I'm supposed to be working on my story for sga_genficathon, but after a bit of a rough start on that, I went and wrote this instead. Oops?

It's a sequel to On the Wings of Imagination, aka Rodney's accidental Impression, aka the SGA/Pern fusion AU of DOOM. (Not, mind, the sequel I intended to write, which will go somewhere between that first story and this one). As such, warnings for a bit of crack, and h/c, and also cute overload. Seriously, I fear I've been writing too much angst lately, and this happened as some kind of reaction. Diabetics beware.

SGA: With Healing in His Wings {~6,900 words}

In which a certain bronze-rider and his very special dragon visit a hold, make a couple new friends, and undermine civilization as we know it; and Rodney eats something he shouldn't have.

I haven't read Pern in a while myself (I fear I'm flubbing canon all over the place!) but I'm really having way too much fun with this verse. Shepparth is just so entertaining - as Rodney always is, and everyone else as well! So, yeah...sequels seem likely ^_^

Oh, it's clear from your stories that the most serious attachment will always be the one between Rodney and Shepparth. I just meant that -- should you want to bring any actual sex into the stories (human sex, that is) -- Shepparth might be more understanding of Rodney tumbling the Healer who'd saved him than of Rodney getting too cozy with a woman. Shepparth already owes the Healer a debt, after all. *g*

Wheeeeee! Oh, man. I loved your original story in this AU, and this is even more delicious. Of course Rodney remains a Smith who just happens to have a dragon, tradition be damned! Of course John makes a particularly attractive, deceptively lazy dragon, strangely beloved by women everywhere. Absolutely wonderful. I love all genres, but this is the kind of warm snuggly gen that puts me in the happy twelve year old place.

OMG! the writer of the Pern/SGA crossover fic is the owner of XMagicalX.net. I was a fan and visitor in days of yore (well, days of RGB fiction).

Yup, guilty as charged! (I'm the author formerly known as XmagicalX, all the fic presently on my RGB site is my own. The other author who used to be posted there was actually writing for SGA fandom herself under another name a couple years before I ever got into the series...)
