sv/ss fic, part the end

And here we are at the end of the story. Now is probably the time to point out that this fic is actually a direct sequel to this fic, which was written some four years ago (and thus no longer matches with current SV canon, but what can you do? Besides ignore current canon, which is the most satisfying way to deal with it anyway, imho.) I may have neglected to mention this earlier to avoid giving away most of this story.

I might write more in this general universe. It's one of my fave explanations of Lex, and I rather wish more fics would write him thusly. It's such a fun way to handle canon. And hey, it makes at least as much sense as the smartest man in the world failing to figure out that Superman + bad glasses - extra-strength hair mousse = Clark Kent.

According to Plan, all parts
PG, futurefic; Smallville/Static Shock crossover, + vague mentions of Justice League

Read it on AO3

I enjoyed this fic very much! It was fresh, unlike other SV fic, and very entertaining, just like the animated verse :)

Your Lex is great, but very complex - I'd love to know more about how he got where he is, how this ties into SV canon and such. And how his and Clark's relationship evolved, of course! (More fic, maybe?) Was this Lex ever really a villain, or has his villain persona been a scam from the start?

I like your Clex-verse

I went back and read the older story set in this 'verse, and realized I had read it before. I'm actually glad I'd forgotten it, since I enjoyed not knowing for sure which version of Lex this one is: it made the tale more suspenseful. It also makes your Lex a truly brilliant character. To play supervillian that convincingly, keeping track of peoples' expectations and playing them accordingly, while never losing track of what's real to him and what really matters to him - quite a juggling game!

I agree that the best way to deal with canon is to ignore it. I'm a member of the "Nothing After Second Season Actually Happened" club :)

I really loved this story. Your analysis of Lex at the end was just perfect and the plot was excellent. It was just... er... all round good! I'm not entirely familiar with the cannon but I instantly understood what was going on with the story and really enjoyed it.

My favorite thing about your work, I think, is the fact you weave plot in with characterisation. It's not something you find that often and when you do find it, it's pure gold. I love that you do this so much in your fics.
Really good stuff. Thanks!

Would it be too much to hope for another fic in this verse? Maybe of this dinner? <3

I don't know a thing about Static Shock so I didn't read it when the first chapter was posted. I like it, it was different in that you have the story done in Robert's (who as far as I can tell is a secondary character) POV and you have Lex in a believable supervillain yet still a good guy role. I also like how you handel two established relationships without making it dragged out and drama filled.

Dood right now with SV canon, Lex either have to forget everything about Clark or knows Superman=Clark Kent and doesn't do anything with the information.

XD Why didn't you mentioned John Glover guest starred in an episode of Numb3rs when you were pimping it? I thought I was going to die of oxygen deprivation from laughing so hard.

Loved it!!! Loved it!!!!

This was great! I love Lex undercover as a supervillian. I tried to go back and read the first story, but couldn't connect to the link. *sad sigh*

Having the story told from Robert's POV worked very well to slowly reveal Luthor's character... Lex is so damn cool in this fic! I'd enjoy seeing more in this 'verse. :)

Fantastic ending to a fantastic story! This Lex is truly my ideal Lex Luthor: the perfect mix of hero and supervillain. Which is not to say I didn't like the other charcters; I did. I just (as always) liked Lex more. ;) I may even have to look for this Static Shock, just to get more of a taste for Virgil, Richie, Robert, E-bon and Shiv. (And, yes, I remembered the prequel, and had wondered if the two tales weren't related.) Thanks so very much for posting! Any chance you'll put the whole thing on the SSA?

Wow, what a great future spawned from that little fic. I liked E-bon and Shiv, and the idea of what they were up to gave me the shivers! I also liked seeing Robert as more than a dude in distress. :)

Nice! I'm sorry I didn't read this until now. I like the deft way you end it, and seeing it all from Robert's viewpoint was a great way of understanding how it worked for Lex and the others.

This was a great fic. Shiv can be redeemed and I really think in this AU it can happen. Love, love, no adore your Lex. He is the perfect supervillian on the side of angels. As for the interaction between your main characters, that was just pure joy to read. I truly enjoyed this story and hope you do something more in this universe.

This fic was utterly fantastic! I read the first a long time ago, and had no idea there was a sequel until today. Thanks so much for writing this!
