Ahh, I apologize if I misunderstood. ^^; I spent much of high school lit classes trying to argue that the depressing trends of 20th century lit were not innately superior to 19th century happy endings, and it's still something I get defensive about. Especially because I've seen people on comms and such who seem to want Usopp - or some nakama - to die, just for the sake of having a death, as if it would make OP a stronger series...while as for me, Oda's ridiculously, absurdly happy endings are one of the reasons I love OP as much as I do. I can understand on one level, why it would make dramatic tension more dramatic if we're not guaranteed it will work out - but I'd rather have Usopp than drama. Besides, judging by the vehemence of the current debates, OP is not suffering from a lack of dramatic tension... ^^
