I loved Kondou's lines in this chapter - and Kyuubei's entrance was a special treat for my inner Kyuubei fangirl! Okita and Kagura's banter was adooorable. But omg. Omg, the Sakata family hug (and Gin's denial leading up to it). My poor, poor heart. I'm still trying to find something to scoop it up with right now but aghh it's become altogether too runny. ; 0;

You gave a hug! ~♥~ And it was a really good hug too. This was such a good chapter, really beautiful. Lyrical, even, especially the scene with Gintoki and the others coming through the rain. And I think the dialogue here is the best it's been so far (and it's been really good so far!).

<333333 So glad you liked it!! After everything I put Gin-san through, I couldn't let him get away without a hug. Quite frankly by the time I reached this scene I was determined to get one in there whether it fit or not; after that much angst I needed it whether or not he did. But I'm glad that it did work for you!

Also yay Kyuubei! *waves fangirl flag* I really love her quite a lot (I might ship her and Otae a bit ^^;) so while I didn't have much of a role for her, still had to give her a bit of awesome.

A hug! A hug that literally made everything better! (And Gnine drew it, too!) With Kagura & Shinpachi's bickering, and Gintoki's denial, and then HUG... It made me very, very happy. ^______^

And then there's cameo!Kyuubei being badass! And all that beautiful dialogue in the barracks. It was really perfect, for all of them, touching and off-beat and making me smile like a smiling thing. ♥

PS. Thank you also for Kagura carrying the wounded Hijikata back - that made for a quite amusing mental image, and I'm sure Okita was highly entertained too! :'D

My friend introduced me to Gintama a while ago, and I've been plowing through the manga and the anime. Your Kagura is simply adorable, and her interaction with Okita is great. I love the way you write the Shinsengumi too, particularly Okita and Hijikata's strange relationship.

So, anyway, I enjoyed this fic! I am looking forward to the next chapter!

Thank you, so glad you're enjoying the story - and yay, another Gintama fan (it's sometimes hard to convert people to this series - it was a hard sell for me! - and it so deserves all the fans it can get ^^)

Yeah, I love the Shinsengumi, and Okita & Kagura have great byplay, as do Okita & Hijikata - really Okita's relations with anyone are fun!
