November madness
Nov. 3rd, 2003 08:45 pmSo, yes, I jumped on the NaNoWriMo bandwagon with everyone and their cousin. At not quite 5K words I probably should be writing more tonight. So here I am on my livejournal.
This bodes well.
One supposes it could be worse, considering three weeks ago I didn't have an idea at all, and as of last Saturday I was going thru 'name your baby' sites finding something to call my protagonist...(accumulated a convenient list of nomickers for extras before settling on Valentin. And all efforts to convince his best friend that "Cash" isn't really a name failed, so Val and Cash it is. Fortunately Cash explained to me why that's his name, only a few minutes after he told me it.)
Must say, there's something liberating about the write or die concept. For instance, I get to ignore that today's scene is crap, maybe I'll find some way to rework it later, now on to the fun stuff! And by fun stuff, I of course mean angst, torture, betrayal...
...Fanfic has taught you well, young Skywalker.
Speaking of fanfic, if you've missed 'em, I've posted oodles more GetBackers in the last month. The one problem with NaNo is that it's gonna throw a wrench in my fic-a-week schedule...
