xparrot: Chopper reading (Default)

First of all, I have posted Hakkai's epilogue to "Remembering to Breathe", thus finishing the fic, (minus the short sequel story which I might post on ff.net sometime.) My inexpressible gratitude to everyone who's read it, those who came back to it after two years, or those who just discovered it. And extra hugs to [livejournal.com profile] rgbrobbie, [livejournal.com profile] menuriko, [livejournal.com profile] y_sanada, [livejournal.com profile] ditch_gospel, [livejournal.com profile] cerisier and the usual gang of idiots (<3 you!) for all your support, encouragement, prodding, lovely long reviews, and everything else. Couldn't have done it without you!

Remembering to Breathe
Saiyuki, gen, angst/suspense/drama
Chapters 1-21 [complete] on ff.net | On AO3

And in the category Blast from the Past, I've finally posted one of my old RGB zine novellas at [livejournal.com profile] rgbrobbie et al's request. This story is going on eight years old, and not, I feel, as strong as some of my more recent fic, but it was my baby at the time and I'm still fond of it. At over 80,000 words, it's the second longest thing I've written, and probably the purest hurt/comfort (it's a toss-up between this and "Seven Deaths".) Poor, poor Peter. Maybe I'll get around to putting "Brothers in Limbo" back online next. For now, enjoy!

Descent
The Real Ghostbusters
gen, drug-induced hurt/comfort

And now, off to write Lex Luthor...

Okay, dammit ... I really need to go read this! Maybe that'll kick me back into finishing my angsty Saiyuki story that I started some time ago. It's very nearly done, but I just got sidetracked (*cough*eightmonthsago*cough*) and haven't gone back to it. (And, hmm, I need a Saiyuki icon. This is the only anime-related icon that's in my userpics right now.)

Oh, and we finally watched the first two eps of Supernatural tonight. I was worried that the pretty-boy-ness would lead to mocking from the husband, but he was distracted enough by Dean's guns that he didn't seem to mind. I can already see what you mean about the h/c. ^^

Whoah, it's done. I remember when you posted chapter one. Need to catch up, but definitely gonna finish it. Thanks so much for sticking with it, you're truly a rare one. Still waiting for Tiger Hunt, but I have complete faith!

Heh...at least for me, I found Saiyuki pretty easy to get back into, even if it took me, umm, a couple years...
(and this is the only Saiyuki icon I have myself! should rectify that, but...)

And yay for SPN! Yes, Dean kicks a lot of ass, for being SUCH a pretty pretty-boy. And you gotta love the Impala's trunk arsenal. ^_^

Done! done done done! (sorry, need to gloat a bit!) And yes, Tiger Hunt is next in the queue. Well, and the GB, and the YGO. But I really can't leave Zoro hanging there all evil forever...!

That's the lucky part of finding a fic once it's been completed. Because it can take me forever and a day to get to the end, even if I do always get there. Hope you enjoy it! ^^

If you get two congratulatory reviews from me on FF.net, blame them. They ate my first one--which I think I worded a little better. But I'll say it again here, CONGRATULATIONS on a job tremendously well done. Definitely one of my favorite of your stories... and that's a very hard thing for me to determine since I love so many of them. I'm glad you decided to post Descent for [livejournal.com profile] rgbrobbie, because one of the things I plan to do to relax after the new year begins is to finally read all your highly-touted RGB fic. Maybe while you're home I can watch a couple episodes with you to get a feel for the show and get to know the characters. (As if we don't have enough planned for two weeks!! Soon! You'll be home soon!! I can't wait!)

::hearts on you so much::

What a lovely, elegant ending to an amazing story. All the little pieces just flowed together into it, recalling so many incidents from throughout the previous chapters. I was especially moved that the girl from Chapter One showed up to essentially close the circle. "Take care of yourself.... for him...."

And you say you have the most trouble writing Hakkai, but his ending introspection was pitch-perfect. It's exactly how he would recover. (IMHO.)

Ditch has been on me recently to write more "Saiyuki" myself, and this story certainly serves as inspiration. It also sets a very high bar! :D

And thank you a thousand times for posting "Descent"! My recs for this weekend are set ("Cruel Necessity", "Last of the Black Phantoms", and "Repeater") but give me a couple days and I'll do a two-fer - "Descent" and "Pieces." How's that? And oh, those were under your Real Name when they were originally published, but I assume you want them under your current LJ name?

Anyway... what a wonderful post to wake up to! Nothing like the smell of fresh fiction in the morning, huh? You've made my day. ::hugs::

You're welcome! So very happy the ending worked for you. (and that you remembered the ch.1 girl...I always wanted to bring her back, but wasn't sure anyone would remember her from so many chapters before! ^^;) And because Hakkai is so difficult for me, I'm especially glad that his recovery makes sense. Anyway, yes - so happy you've been reading it!

And the RGB, yes, please post them under X-parrot. Or XmagicalX, since that was my active fandom handle at the time of writing the RGB, I'm not sure which is more appropriate. But yes, I'm trying to avoid using the Real Name, thank you!

*defends fanzines from zombies* Heck no! They can have my Dean Koontz novels or something. My cat. Leftover Chinese food. My ex-roommates. But not the zines. Do you know how much those things cost? *glares at zombies* Screw that!

And okay, not THAT much but damnit, I was in college at the time, it seemed like a lot of money.

I am so glad you took the time to finish RTB. It is definitely on my list of fanfic favorites. You said you were a bit rusty when you came back to it, but you didn’t falter at all in your remarkable ability to write these four. The story line was truly mind-blowing and the last two chapters really shined. The completed story was well worth the wait.

Encore, encore! Maybe “Darkness Visible” or “Tiger Hunt”?

Aww, I am so glad you enjoyed it! ^_^ you (and your roommie ^^) definitely deserve credit for helping me get to the finish line with this story. And I did feel rusty, so I'm so relieved that the end worked so well for you - I just saw your reviews on ff.net, and can't tell you how much I appreciate them. The epilogue is pretty much what I was planning from when I started the story, but after this long...I wasn't totally sure it was strong enough. But I'm glad I went with it, it seemed to have satisfied...

And nope, I haven't forgotten DV or TH. Honest! You got my word on those, two...even if it takes me another 3 years! ^^;;;

omg
