Depending on how the season ends I might quit watching anyway...the show is awfully frustrating, on a whole lot of levels, not sure it's worth the trauma!
Bagheera and I were talking about that the other day, and we both thought it would be awesome to start a Smallville Season 7 AU community after the season finale. We'd rewrite the season finale to make it better (possibly killing Lana, etc.) and then invite other writers to each write an "episode" of SV. And then we'd ignore canon, because it hurts. And sucks, quite often.
(or at least, we'd ignore it during the summer hiatus. Smallville has the bad habit of sucking me back in as soon as I break up with it because it's so abusive.)
She doesn't have time to mod with me, unfortunately, so I was thinking about going it alone, except that I would need people to pimp it out for me since my flist is still pretty tiny.
But anyway, yeah. I'm still not entirely sure whether or not I'll do it, but if the finale sucks and enough people show interest I might. It would just be time-consuming is all, and it would require enough fic writers to show interest and commit.
