Hee, thank you! The thing is, I actually believe a lot of what Lex believes - a Superman would present a problem to the human race, to our advancement. We'd likely not take care of ourselves properly, when we can depend on superheroes to take care of us for us. That danger of superior beings is an idea explored in a lot of scifi, and in other Superman stories (LL: Man of Steel, and also some of Maggin's comics) and it fascinates me.
The trouble is that Lex is using this real concern to justify all manner of terrible things; rather than really addressing the problem, he's exploiting it to prove himself. And also using it as an excuse, since he's got a very personal grudge. But, yeah, even this evil!Lex, I'm somewhat sympathetic towards. And I think it makes him more disturbing, that you can understand him, to an extent...
