A missing scene for SG-1: 10x03, "The Pegasus Project," since it was pretty obvious (to me, anyway) that Mitchell has another conversation with Sheppard that we're not privy to, especially considering a tiny bit near the end of the ep when they're on the Odyssey.

eeeeeeee!
<3!!!!

love, love, love this glimpse of the team from an outsider's perspective. That's one of my fave pov's for fic, and you do a great job of balancing Cam's competitiveness and insight.

yay!

YES. Just, omg, yes. I love so many things about this (my alien can beat up your alien, hah! though I'd have to go for Teal'c in that fight, I think), but that last scene... *sigh* So nicely done.
I love how you have Cam finding out about what kind of person Rodney is by seeing how the people around him react to Rodney; it feels true to Cam's character that yeah, Rodney would probably irritate him (quite possibly a lot), but he'd be willing to see past that and realize that there's something more there. And I love all the subtle posturing going on there with Ronon, and Teyla, and Sheppard being all protective-- so cool. Thanks for sharing this!

hee hee ... I knew it was going to be a Good Thing for SGA fanfic if you were in the fandom. ^_^

I love outsider POVs and this is a really wonderful one. I love how Cam isn't really won over -- how, even at the end, he still finds Rodney annoying and isn't quite sure what's under the prickly exterior. And I also love how Sheppard's a little restrained, too; Rodney's a big boy and doesn't need anyone fighting his battles for him, but John's just got to make sure Cam knows he's got precious cargo on board. *g* All in all, this is a perfect missing scene that fits beautifully with the episode, expanding and deepening canon without ever conflicting or undermining it.

Hee, glad you liked it! I'm very partial to the outsider's POVs myself, and Cam is fun to write (I didn't really fan on the last couple seasons of SG-1, but I quite enjoyed them, and he's an entertaining char and a good fit to SG-1.)

Heh - I'd probably put my money on Teal'c myself, he's got, what, 50 years of experience on Ronon? But I'd totally buy a ticket either way! (and it looks like we might get it later this season - squee!)

Glad you enjoyed the story!

*giggles & blushes* really, these chars are just Too Much Fun to play with!

McKay is a...subtle flavor and I'm not sure Cam's got the palate for it...he's used to geniuses, but his aren't anything like Rodney! ('sides, if everyone started liking Rodney too soon it wouldn't be any fun XD) But Cam's not an idiot, and I think he's got a notion that Atlantis is fonder of their physicist than they let on. What really convinces me is at the ep's end, when the Odyssey is getting knocked around, Cam dives to grab onto Rodney and steady him. Which isn't really in char for Cam - he's not often a scientist-babysitter, as Sam and Daniel don't need that kind of protection. So, yeah, made me think he might've gotten more explicit instructions before he left.

(really, Sheppard cracks me up in the ep, doing his fellow-AF-lt.-colonel posturing with Mitchell; he is so acting like the high school jock hanging with his football buddies and making fun of the biggest nerd, as if everyone doesn't know that they're really best friends. XD)

Reading this at work made me smiiiiiile. And reading the comments, too! It really is very very nice to have you writing for the fandom. ♥

This exact scene was something I really, really wanted to see myself after watching the ep - I remember Cam diving for Rodney, too, and thinking there had to be something to it. And there is! This goes in my mental compartment for "personal canon". So cute and so funny and just - really true to the characters. ♥

I've only seen clips of the episode and barely know Cam but now? I feel like I really know the guy. What struck me most about this was the voice, which feels real and direct, like I could hear him talking.

I love the subtlety of this, Cam's comparison of Atlantis and its people to everything he knows and the pitch perfect humour. Everyone sounds spot on, and I adore the descriptions of Sheppard. Just wonderful.

This was a delightful read! Oh Cam and your "mine is tougher than yours" team love, you just can't help it.

The match between Ronon and Teal'c? Yes. I'm just waiting for it.

Hee - it's very nice writing for this fandom (both getting in touch with the chars, and also folks are really, really nice about commenting here, it seems, and you know how I go for that *^_^*)

& it so happened. In my head, anyway!

Glad you enjoyed it, and that Cam's voice rang true . After watching all of s9-10 of SG-1, I became very fond of Cam, though I never did determine how much of that was because of the char himself, and how much was just the appeal of Ben Browder (mmm, Ben Browder~) doin' his good ol' Southern boy thing.

Excellent outsider POV of my fav scientist. Your fic title says it all.

Your description of Sheppard's eyes took me slightly aback. "Yellow-green" sounds like he has alien bug eyes. Maybe "hazel-green" or even "brown-green"?

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! One of the joys of McKay is watching other people try to figure him out...

(re: Sheppard's eyes - but he does have yellow alien bug eyes! Joe Flanigan's peepers freak me out, dude. But I've changed it to "gold-green" so as not to give people "Conversion" flashbacks, hope that serves you a little better!)

Oh, well done. Nice look at Atlantis through SG1 perspective. I always enjoy the alien vs alien bit (can't wait for Teal'c on SGA!), too.

The ending line was great and I also liked Ronon gives him an unreadable look, maybe sizing him up for a fight, or a stew pot, or else checking out his ass. LOL!

Very nicely done! I love that Cam is trying to figure out the nuances of the Lantean relationships, and how much he can intuit.

I'm another sucker for outsider POVs. Wonderful details in this. I love smart!Cam twigging that there's more between these people than meets the eye.
