Oh, Mallozzi, I can forgive you many past missteps, for this ep of supreme cuteness and general wonderfulitude.

Most importantly - we are batting 3 for 3 for TEAM this season. GLEE.

OMG - Teyla has a house-husband as she bravely goes off to save the galaxy! I--I--I wanted this so badly and never thought it would really happen and now she got it and OH! I don't believe you did this, show, you have made me SO HAPPY!

And she hands the baby off to Woolsey! How adorable is that?

Also, poor Woolsey and the conference room doors. Atlantis doesn't like him! Awww. We like you, Woolsey, with your comfort suits and your classical music and your fantastic actor (Robert Picardo is <3!)

Everyone caught by the Wraith! Here we go again. Thumbs' up to Teyla! (Poor Teyla; she's not enjoying Rodney's pessimism or John's deliciously pouty denial because, well, yes, certain death isn't nearly as fun when you've got an adorable baby and loyal almost-spouse waiting for you back home...)

Then, making plans! Smart-talking wobbly-eyed John on his knees before a Wraith for the hundredy-billionth time! Fetching Ronon! Needing two Marines to carry him out!

Ronon torture! But with a shirt. Why, shirt, why? Couldn't you have at least gotten strategically ripped?

(A little disappointed that no one mentioned that Teyla and Ronon and especially Rodney have been through enzyme withdrawal before...but all is forgiven because:)

Rodney talking to Ronon! About piano lessons. This is the first mention of Rodney-the-pianist in SGA canon, yes?

And his overjoyed, "He's back!"

Teyla + Kanaan + baby = adoooorable! Rodney in the bath, with tablet! And John giving Ronon the sword and then leaving without a word. And then Ronon curls up with his sword! Galaxy's pointiest teddy bear.

Oh, in between all this cute, there was a plot or something. With, um, Wraith. And C-4. You've seen the show, you know how it goes.

McSheppiest line: "I'm not taking a bath with you." Um, John, how did your mind jump to that conclusion? It's because the moment Rodney mentioned "bathing" you couldn't think about anything else, isn't it?

Yep. That's it exactly. And what was John's line to the Wraith? you know what'd be really creepy and weird? If you got down on your knees instead? Yeah.

This season's starting off so well.

Generally, all seconded! This episode is *squee* material again, which I'm very happy about. I really wasn't fond of The Seed. It had its moments, but all in all-- No, I'm not going to dwell on that, because this one? ♥

I like how *uncomfortable* Woolsey is in his new job, and how he can only overcome this by sticking to the rules (which he admits to in The Seed) and by playing the who's-the-boss-here card, like he does when he *allows* the team to go offworld, but only after a significant pause. The entire meeting room scene was great, and Atlantis locking Woolsey in afterwards-- Shows how alien the city still is to Woolsey. Poor guy. I like him a lot more so far than I would have expected.

Plus, yes:
"I'm not taking a bath with you."
Wins at everything!!!

LOVE FOR THIS EPISODE CANNOT BE TEXTUALLY RENDERED.

*flails and squeaks a lot*

Seriously. I cannot be coherent right now, because my mind is full of EEEE~ and my ROOM would be full of EEEE~ if mom hadn't just stopped by to say - very nicely - that it's late and people are trying to sleep and you're making LOTS OF NOISE.

Yeah.

SHOW. ♥

I loved, adored this episode. I think that S5 is being my favorite one so far! The team being all... team-y!

I love the tiny details. Like the door closing in front of Woolsey or Sheppard making the little disgusting faces while drinking his coffee. I loved the scene with Sheppard and Teyla where he told her that he really does understand her dilemma but she just needs to make a decision! That was John being understanding but still a leader! And there was McShep banter too!

And I love Woolsey! He's my favorite Atlantis leader so far! In three eps we learned more about him than about Weir during three seasons. Do you think that the writers learned their lesson?

I didn't think that this ep would be as great as it turned out to be in the end and I'm so happy with it :)

I laughed so hard at the 'I'm not taking a bath with you' line. OH JOHN.

A little disappointed that no one mentioned that Teyla and Ronon and especially Rodney have been through enzyme withdrawal before...

Yeah I was thinking that too but I guess getting it straight from the horses mouth (or wraith hand) is slightly different.

I love the bit about the piano lessons, because if I'd managed to get my nerve up at Meet the Hewletts I was going to ask whether musician!Rodney was ever going to turn up again.

"The Seed" I enjoyed with reservations upon first viewing, but the more I thought about it, the more discontent I became. But this one was just JOY!

Much as I desperately miss Sam, I was expecting to love Woolsey, as I rather adored him in SG-1. He's more sympathetically presented than I was expecting, but I'm still loving him, and I love the uncomfortable relationships he's building, that he's trying and they're willing to accept him so far, but no further (and I loved when he saw the team off standing up in the little 'leader's balcony' leaning on the railing in the same position Elizabeth and Sam used to adopt...)

...Now I'm wondering if it'll ever be "Richard" instead of "Mr. Woolsey."

I've been up & down about the season thus far - things I love, things I don't - but I am ADORING the Team-iness, and this ep was just JOY when it came to that!

Ahahah John's coffee-face was marvelous. You really gotta watch everyone, because they're always doing stuff in the background...

I miss Sam tremendously - but I'm loving Woolsey thus far!

What was he THINKING? Really, I understand Rodney's "bwaah?--moving on" reaction, because it was such a non sequitur on John's part - a beautifully slashy non sequitur!

At first I was thinking it was different, but with Ronon they were mostly talking about enzyme withdrawal, and it looked awfully similar to what Rodney went through...it's odd that Ronon never mentioned ever to Tyre that he knew what it felt like. Though I think some of Rodney's expressions implied (to me, anyway) that he was empathizing..

Oh, man, I was like, "Did he just say piano? what was he saying?" and then after the ep was done I had to go back and check and YES. I've been wanting some reference to Rodney's musical past, since I love it so in fic - this was just marvelous!
