I'm so glad you got into watching these shows. They're not perfect, but what TV show ever is? There are characters I don't care for, arcs I don't care for, and every once in a while it seems as if the whole mess is going to fall apart, but it never does. Somehow Joss pulls it all together, and that's why I love him. He's a genius, even if he is a bit rough around the edges.
The last season of Angel is terrific, so don't worry. It's worth it to hang on through the bad episodes. :-)))
