So tempted to change my default user icon to this one. (from the 13th ED, only it blinks by so fast I couldn't get a good look at it. So finally I 'capped it and AWWW:)

Just finished the Virus arc (RPG parodies FTW!) which was way way silly ("Shintank!!") and chock-full of 8-bit sprite humor and also a teensy bit touching as well - everything I love about this show. Eeee. (And then next was the hair-loss half-ep. BWAHAHAHAHAH.)

Fic is at 30K words and counting. I am apparently writing a NaNo to warm up for NaNo, OH GOD SOMEBODY STOP ME.

I KNOOOOOOW...isn't it the cutest thing in the universe?

I love pretty much all the chars in Gintama, I really do (I swear the only ones I don't like are the baka-ouji and Matsudaira, and everyone else is just ~adooooore~) - but Gintoki with his kids makes my heart go *squish* in its very squishiest place ^___^

Yes, Sorachi does make his cast highly lovable. I love the Yorozuya's extended family (that is, Kagura's Papi and Shinpachi's big sis and Kyuu and so forth) and the bromance that is the Shinsengumi as well as the old Joui 4. I even like Matsudaira a little at times because his over-protectiveness of Kuriko gets our Shinsengumi pals up to some pretty hilarious shenanigans sometimes. :DDD

I wholeheartedly agree. And it's also the reason I kind of really want to marry Gintoki even though we are 150% incompatible XD

Sorachi's got a real gift for characters - his whole cast is able to switch between outrageous crack comedy and genuinely touching drama without going too OOC. And they're all lovable, most of them completely in spite of themselves. Which I think is mostly because of the relationships - all those sets are so cute, and then there's the way they all mix together - I love how Kondou actually does think of Shinpachi as his little brother-in-law, and so the other Shinsengumi are obliged to treat him accordingly. Or how Zura gets along with any of them. And then there's Otose, whose relationship with Gintoki I find one of the most fascinating in the show, really...

And it's also the reason I kind of really want to marry Gintoki even though we are 150% incompatible XD

You, me, and a significant chunk of the women in Japan! XDXDXD Gin-san's just so...he's, I dunno, some kind of variation on that irresistible bad boy with a heart of gold, except for him the bad boy is less leather jackets and cigarettes and more dead-fish-eyes and pachinko...but the heart's pure silver, and so shiny...!
