Gintama fic: Pandemonium 11/?

Ack, all I need for Xmas is better time-management skills! But I finally finished my Yuletide story (first draft, anyway) and it's even about the size I projected, which is a first - usually my stories end up about twice as long as I expect them to be. Case in point, I figured "Pandemonium" would be over by 40K words. Um, yeah...

Yamazaki POV! Good choice, he's got good eyes to look at this insanity from... And he'd just discovered a significant plot point, too - just a bit too late.

Love how the shinsengumi are all so stunned and worried about this. Even Kondou is thinking.

And Katsura is up to something, concerning his brother family... Love the interplay between him and Elizabeth! :D

I do love Yamazaki, had to give him some part to play - and he does work well as an observer, if a reluctant one...(poor Yamazaki, always getting stuck in the middle of calamity!)

Besides, Okita liked Gintoki, as much as he liked anyone who wasn't Kondou Isao; and it was hard to be sure but Yamazaki had always had the impression that the Yorozuya danna didn't mind Okita.

Awwwwwwwwww. Gintoki not minding someone = like? The semi-paternal/brotherly relationship between Okita and Kondo is all kinds of adorable; I hope we get to see how they actually met in canon, although it's probably not very likely to make it in....I'm incredibly amused that Kondou's thinking of Otae-san as usual, but this time for an actual sensible reason instead of just his gorilla stalker-ishness!

Gintoki deflecting lasers with a huge diamond studded sword makes for a very cool mental image - in fact I'm pretty sure it can't get any more awesome~

Hee, I confess to liking Kondou more than I really ought to, so have to give him some genuinely cool moments. And yes, his big-brother/father thing with Okita is so cute...(We already saw a bit of how they met in canon - maybe in the Mitsuba arc? - there was a flash of chibi!Okita drawing in the dirt and Kondou joined him; he was a lonely little boy and Kondou befriended him. socute! ^^)

And yeah, considering what I'm doing to Gintoki, I at least had to make it worth his while in awesome! And he does shounen badass so very well... ^^
