The Word doc for this fic, when I transferred it from my laptop, was 666K. Oddly appropriate, mayhaps? (In case you were wondering - yes, half the reason I wrote this story is because we don't get nearly enough Shiroyasha...)

:DDD to the penny dropping for Hijikata on just who Shiroyasha might be! :DDD to Okita poking the mega-yield explosive, and Hijikata scolding him for it! The Shinsengumi protecting Edo by co-operating with the aliens made me make all kinds of sad faces that don't translate as easily into ASCII, but ouch. Ouch. I like how there's this sense of everyone being laid back, and slow to react, until they do realize something big is happening - it feels rather realistic, and helps gel the funny and serious together.

Then you had to follow it up with not just one, but two very evil cliffhangers! Will we need a Yamazaki III!?

It was a thing of joy though to see super competent Katsura infiltrating Takasugi's base :DDD. Also, the thought of Takasugi and Katsura watching soppy dramas together is hilarious Takasugi would probably laugh at inappropriate moments while Katsura pretends he's not crying his eyes out. Although with an Amanto guarding his door on a ship, I wonder if Harusame and Kamui are there....?

So glad you're enjoying it! evil cliffhangers and all...I didn't mean to be evil, it's just that everything started happening all at once... (...well, okay, maybe I meant to be a little bit evil ^^;) And I'm happy - and relieved! - that the balance of funny and serious is working for you (the Shinsengumi do not take well to drama; they keep trying to pull it back on the comedy course, however unsuited to the scene ^^;)

Speaking of inappropriate comedy, hee~ to Takasugi and Katsura watching dramas together! XDXD

I absolutely love your worried Shinsengumi. All the more effective because it's subdued. And Hijikata finally connects the dots about "Shiroyasha", heh. It's very true that "demon" is not the first thing you think when you meet the regular Gintoki.

And oooh, Takasugi! Of course! That's interesting! (and LOL at the dorama! XD)

Eeee, so glad you like my Shinsengumi - I love them so, glad I'm giving them a good showing! and yeah, it should be obvious that Gintoki's the Shiroyasha, but I can see it being a bit hard to believe. (In Hijikata's defense, I don't think he believed the Shiroyasha existed at all, so he never considered it at all ^^;)

And yeah, bringing Takasugi in is always a way to up the drama... ^__^
