Regarding the latest HS update:

...So Sollux can see ~The Green Sun~ out of one eye? And Aradia is waiting for them - are they actually all going to be taking the moon back? Is that the plan? And just who does Doc Scratch have locked up anyway? It's not Snowman, I don't think. For a moment there I was almost thinking it was Aradia...or else a denizen? (Wasn't it implied somewhere that Jade was getting advice from Scratch in the making of this plan? But Jade hasn't mentioned Scratch at all...soooo...is the Echidna advising Jade actually who she claims to be...???

Also XDXDXDXDXD to Jade's paperkind - Bad Dog! Worst Enemy!! (Jade & Kanaya work together so well! Karkat's moirail and auspistice, aww...(okay, Kanaya<>Karkat isn't exactly established, but this fic convinced me it would be adoooorable, so...)



Have also been watching the Nodame Cantabile j-drama - have seen the show and the specials, just the 2nd movie left. It's thoroughly delightful, and of course the music is gorgeous (Hiroshi Tamaki as Chiaki is also gorgeous - plus his voice reminds me of Tsuda Kenjirou's, deep sexy arrogance, mmm). Maybe doesn't quite supplant my favorite dramas ever (that would be Odoru Daisousasen, for being perfect for what it is (even if the last movie was VERY VERY WTFFFFF); and Tiger & Dragon for its amazing and unique storytelling style, which I've never seen anything quite like in any other TV show, Japanese or other) but it's great stuff, and the balance of absurdism to earnest Japanese-style melodrama is perfect considering it's all about the classical music world (really, does it get more melodramatic than, say, Verdi's Dies Irae - which is a recurring theme in Nodame, and only gets more hysterical as it goes along). Definitely recommended if you like your romantic comedy with classical music and lots of ridiculous and surprisingly touching crack.

I'm not actually certain exactly where Sollux stands as of the last update. He definitely has "a foot on either side", in more ways than one. I'm not sure if he's alive and sleeping (he did ask if "we" made it) and about to die for some reason, or if he's already dead. Of course, Sollux is the one troll whose death was foretold back in his introduction, but it's still sad. :(

In any case he's got one Dead Eye (white, like all the dead trolls') which he can apparently see with, and one black burnt out eye. O_0 indeed.

With Scratch, I though it was Snowman when Scratch first mentioned "she", but at that point I thought the unknown person was knocking on the door, not locked up behind a heavy door! So it's not Snowman. And it makes me worried thinking about who it could be... (the thing about paradox space is that it could technically be anyone, dead or alive or not-yet-born...!)

I don't think we've seen Jade start to talk to Scratch yet, though. We haven't seen her start to figure out the Yellow Yard plan. I think the latest update with her was just before she got into contact with Scratch.

Ahh, I didn't remember anything about Sollux's death being foretold - went back and read it and hmm, yeah. How does he die twofold? Since he foretold he would go blind before, so he wasn't talking about his double dream-deaths...

(if Terezi died could her dead-eyes see, then...?)

And yeah, I like Sollux and would rather he didn't die...but the way things are going I'm not 100% sure death is going to 'stick' anyway! XP

I didn't really think it was Snowman anyway (why would Snowman knock?!) but very curious who/what is back there...

I'm kinda sorta hoping that all of the dead trolls will come with the living ones when they cross session, but at the same time, I'm not sure if I dare to hope that (especially with the logistics that there are more than one dead version of most trolls ^^;)

Though, of course, with the non-linear storytelling and the dream bubbles and everything, death certainly doesn't mean we won't see the character again.

About the prisoner... My crack theory for now: Betty Crocker!! XD

Jeannine and I started watching Nodame Cantabille this evening. Hiroshi Tamaki is very pretty. The constant pendulum swing from totally anime-style silliness and ridiculous female overfocus on food to earnest Japanese-style coming to understand what's important in pursuing music and what makes people tick is mindboggling, but very sweet and great fun. We've watched three episodes and I am definitely charmed and hooked. Looking forward to seeing the rest soon.
