There has been much AAAAAARGH of late, all for stupid first world problems (like livejournal taking away my default icon a couple days after my paid account ran out, despite their FAQ saying they don't do that. And no one has answered my support request after a week and arrrrrgh I don't want to delete all my icons just to get that one back, but I miss my book-reading!Chopper :(:(:( And then this weekend I spent, I don't know, 20 hours, 30? handling some OTW stuff, which felt at points like running a bucket brigade with cupped palms trying to extinguish a forest fire. Or several forest fires, because everyone's got their own bugbears, and some are mutually incompatible, and also Googledocs hates me, personally, and yeah, AAAAAAARGH.)

But then there is sara_tanaquil squeeing about One Piece and reminding me why it is still THE BESTEST SERIES OF ALL TIMES. And there has been regular new Homestuck, which is also THE BESTEST in totally different (also sometimes the same) ways (this page made me laugh so hard because, just, AH is just totally GIVING UP and not caring and then Crabdad and hellmurder islands and TINKERBULL NOOOOOOO and I have no idea what is happening because this is just what I expected except not at all and yeah, okay, I know people are like HS whatever overhyped nonsense shut up already; but I have drunk deep of the koolaid and you guys it is sooooo delicious~...)

...And also I want desperately to read the latest chapter of Gintama except, despite it being listed in SJ v51's contents and there being a posted translation so I know it exists somewhere, I have utterly failed to find a raw scan on any of the usual sources. ;__________;

I wonder if Poppops!John is going to end up a sprite like Nanna!Jane was... It would be incredibly interesting, and the fact that he lost and arm made me think he is also lined up to lose an eye to complete the theme - but losing his entire head is a little much. o_O

Unless they did, as kids? We don't know how Bro and Mom were raised at all... I've been toying with the headcanon that Grandpa and/or Nanna raised them (especially since Grandpa owned SkaiaNet, and Mom lived right by a SkaiaNet laboratory doing sburby-research... There are lots of unfilled holes in that story still.)

Of course, it only occurs to me now that the same headcanon could apply the other way around in the alpha version?

The trolls didn't so much, excepting the Signless apparently - but then with Jade having taken them through the 4th wall, who knows how that worked out. Considering Jake's being told they're going to meet (and who the heck is UU anyway?!!? If it's not the Condesce I've been thinking the Handmaid, but...)

UU confuses me so much! I can't imagine that she's anything but a troll, but the only thing she has in common with any of the trolls at all is the gray font, which... Well, my brain breaks a bit when trying to imagine Karkat or the Signless typing like that.

But gray font only has to mean she's hiding her blood color, and apart from the typing quirk, she does sound more similar to Feferi than anyone else, so perhaps the alt!Condesce want to be hemoscale incognito for whatever reason?

Anyway, UUs comments pretty much confirms for me that that the beta session kids are going to be waiting for the alpha session kids in the Medium. (And there's probably going to be a bunch of both session trolls involved too...)

I actually wondered if there would be wild lusii roaming on Jake's island, considering all the hints of weird FAUNA and Jake's bedsheets. And now we know.

I wonder what the Betty Condesce has done to Earth in this timeline... Lalonde is spouting stuff about references to wriggling days and pale romance, and Jake has a husktop, and... yeah. Earth has clearly grown closer to Alternia.

(And I can't have been the only one who saw shining pointy red shades behind Jake and thought Terezi!! before I came to my senses and remembered that Jake was questing for a Brobot.)

Oh, and Bro's bunny! Because we all clearly expected something like a bunny smuppet, but no, alt!Bro is all about the robots and AIs, isn't he?

I caught the lusii on Jake's bedsheets, but it didn't occur to me that they would actually be the fauna on the island! (we were actually wondering if it was Echidna somehow, when we saw Crabdad's spines...)

But Alt!Bro (His name starts with a D. I really sorta want his name to be Dick, named by Dave for ironical purposes. XD) would have had Cal! Unless Alt!Dave took it away from him and burned it or something, which... yeah, not implausible.

Because somehow, this version of reality is still linked with the beta kids' session. Poppop!John arrived as a baby with the joke book with Nannasprite's message on, and Jane arrived with John's Dad's dirty hat (which she's wearing now), and both Grandma!Jade and Mom!Rose arrived with their respective bunnies given by John. So Jake would have arrived with Grandpa!Jake's flintlock guns, and Bro!Dave with Maplehoof and yeah, DS!Bro with Cal.

Remember when Doc Scratch said that the first troll session was faulty from the beginning, because it was not the session where they created themselves? Both realities contains the exact same people, created by Karkat in the post-Scratch session.

...so, it seems to me that the same happened in the human sessions. John created eight babies, and since it's the same babies (items and all) in both sessions, they will not be created in this alpha session.

Who can say which came first, really? Chicken or Egg? Double Moebius Reacharound? I absolutely love it. :D
