on Warehouse 13 and why you should be watching it

At least if you like adorably sweet platonic found-families. If you are allergic to adorable stay FAR FAR AWAY. W13 is one of the most consistently cute shows I have ever seen.

The last episode especially - has one of the characters worrying about his romantic prospects, since no one in their little found family team has actually found their "one" yet, and he's the shyest of all of them. And then the person he's talking to, rather than reassure him that he's a catch who is sure to find true love someday if he keeps looking (even though it's true) - instead points out that he's settled into their family group, and he's happy being settled, and that maybe, at least for now, his "one" is his four friends. To have a show say outright that romance is not the be-all and end-all to happiness or human contact - that even for adults, love and family is not always dependent on romance - <3333

(The character in question is also party to possibly the best reaction of a straight man to a male colleague coming out ever put on TV:

Aaron Ashmore does a great job with the role, too - he doesn't come in until s3, but it's worth the wait!

Hiya! Finally back home and remembered you mentioning you'd made this entry when we started watching S&H.

Remind me again. How many episodes did we actually manage to watch with all the tangential fannish talking we did?

Have had the Warehouse 13 rec reinforced by other fannish friends on my recent travels. They sat me down in Toronto and made me watch the first 4 eps.

And OKAY ALREADY!!! You guys win. I'm hooked on another show.

I think we made it through...2 eps of S&H? The restaurant ep, and the one Hutch goes off the road...fastforwarding...and it only took us, what, 8 hours to get through them total?

Come back anytime you're stateside, we'd love to have you, and maybe we could get through another 2 eps! XD

I love the show (surprise, surprise, my name's in it like three times :))

But for me, Pete is often what sells the show. He has a charm to him that is outstanding. He is very goofy, no doubt, but he also has this side to him that genuinely loves all of the people he works with (except maybe Mrs. Frederic, but that's because she's just too badass). And he wants his team to be comfortable with themselves, each other, and him. I just love love his character.

And your namesake is pretty much the most awesome char in the show, too! :D

But yeah, Pete is kind of amazing - he's such a kid and a fratboy sometimes, but he's also so secure with himself; he never has any need to "prove" his masculinity or straightness or anything else! (or at least not in ways which ever put anyone else down...!) And he's so terrible sincere about everything. I love that he's probably the most willing to talk about his feelings of all of them.

Awww, I'm so fond of all of this show (so sad it's going to be ending next year! D:)

Well the thing of it is, my name really does appear three times. When I was younger, my step-sister called me "Lena"; There's Helena of course (how awesome to be an incarnation of HG Wells, I mean really?); and then, there's Myka (again, wow.)

What do you mean that it's ending next year? I still haven't forgiven them from the cliff hanger from this season!

(I finished the last episode up called my Dad (also a big fan). I actually kind of feel sorry for the Paracelus character. Why you might ask? Because for all of his power, he is now in Claudia's house. And she IS NOT going to give that up.)
