So [livejournal.com profile] gnine was just up in Vancouver for work and happened to go to a SPN shooting this afternoon! And I am torn between being thrilled for her and being SO JEALOUS - I've always wanted to see TV/film shooting anyway, but of a show we're actively fanning on...!!! J2 were being silly together and Jensen was driving the Hero Impala (Baby is apparently as crazy loud as everyone says), plus Nina Lopez-Corrado was directing (new director on the show, this is only her second ep, but her first was "Red Meat," the h/c extravaganza I was squeeing about before) and just, eeee! waaaah! If only I'd known for sure it was happening, I could've driven up myself...(it's about 3 hours plus a border crossing...the fact that I'm seriously considering it should another opportunity present itself, well, such is the fangirl life...)

OMG wow!! :DDD I can definitely see the jealousy, but man, [livejournal.com profile] gnine must be OVER THE MOON about it (which I'm sure doesn't help XD). You should definitely keep your internet ears open for more opportunities like that!

... The only TV/movie filming I've ever seen was about the least fannable thing EVER -- we happened to stumble upon filming of the Rocky & Bullwinkle movie when we were living near Chicago. We didn't really get to see anything interesting because they were staging some kind of street scene and we got bored with endlessly watching extras get set up in position, and wandered off. On the other hand, that was the first time I'd realized that every single person, vehicle, and object in the background of a street scene in a movie is actually placed there; I definitely would know that NOW, after 15 more years of reading behind-the-scenes stuff, but at the time I didn't know, and it was interesting to watch all the people who were playing random crowd-shot extras just hanging out on their designated bit of sidewalk, waiting for their cue ...

Heee, yeah, she is completely giddy - she's on a bus home now and I keep getting squeeful texts! And she took like 70 pics and a bunch of vids, looking forward to seeing all of them. While I writhe and moan in rampant fan jealousy!

(she's been in Vancouver several times in the last few months, it's the end point for tours she's been leading up through the Canadian Rockies, so she's been following local shootings on Twitter; she's had a couple chances for SPN shoots before but this is the first one that panned out. ...Also she's getting to know the area better, so watching various shows like SPN and Legends of Tomorrow she'll be going, "oh, yeah, that's that place by the park...!")

A few months ago when we were in Vancouver with Naye and Skuld we came across a shooting in Stanley Park, but it was just the pilot for some random comedy-horror miniseries thing that might or might not ever air? So we didn't stick around to watch, but the number of trucks and everything they had lined up and down the road was crazy. And I saw a commercial or something being shot at an airport but didn't have time to stand around and observe for long.

That's awesome, I'm so jealous! SPN would be the one show I'd go to the shooting off. :D

I've long had an interest in movie/TV making anyway, but yeah, of all shows SPN sounds like one of the most fun to watch (from the reports of my sister and others on tumblr it sounds like the boys were in fine form!)
