time for an h/c comment fest!

The last couple of days have been rough on my writing (for dumb annoying reasons, why don't we come installed with a "will not be bothered by this thing" button?)

So! In the hopes of getting me to write something, and because this is what I'm feeling most wobbly about: it's time for hurt/comfort comment-fic!

Leave me a prompt/request for h/c, any hurt or any comfort, short or long as you want -- if it's character-specific, Guardian WeiLan please, that's all I'm in the mood to write; if that's not your thing then please leave a more general prompt! I don't promise to write anything (nor do I promise to write an actual commentfic and not some 10K-word monster, knowing me) but I would love any inspiration.

And if one of the prompts happens to tickle your fancy, please post your own comment fic (art, etc!) here (any fandoms, any characters) -- the more h/c the merrier!

Waaah this is so ridiculously cute! I love that the hurt and comfort both switch between them, that Zhao Yunlan is insisting on taking care of Shen Wei but then Shen Wei is taking care of him. And Yunlan just taking his filter off because it's the way to get through the night, and also YES THEIR HOUSE!! which they will totally be getting!!

Plus the dream eater blade is cool, and Sang Zan figuring it out -- go librarians!

There is absolutely no good reason why Shen Wei should be asking that question, and lots of bad ones.

...Their lives...

If this is a vision, their future is looking terrifying.

He looks slightly ashamed, as if it's somehow his fault he isn't being tormented by a smaller segment of the local population.

This is such perfectly Shen Wei guilt...

Zhao Yunlan grabs Shen Wei by the upper arms - always a distracting prospect, because damn those muscles are just - but no.

Zhao Yunlan's train of thought through all of this is passing hilarious, even before he's saying it out loud, but especially when he gets distracted by Shen Wei's assets...

Shen Wei frowns, so - okay, maybe there's no food in the fridge. Or maybe he's listening to someone get eaten by giant spiders, because his face is looking really pale.

Haah, who can say!

Apology wars between them have a tendency to escalate, and redistributing blame to outside targets is a good way of dealing with it.

This is such a true thing and also awwww that they're finding solutions for it...I love in general the picture of their relationship and how it's developing!

"I'm worried about you, you know. If there's something, you'd tell me, right?"

Well. Shen Wei's silence is very telling, that's for sure.

Oh Shen Wei. Of course he can't impose...And Zhao Yunlan knowing what to say to get it out of him...

"It helps to listen to my voice?"

"I'm sorry," Shen Wei says, quietly. "It's unreasonable - it's going to last for ten hours, I couldn't possibly -"

Oh Shen Wei!! And Zhao Yunlan being able to make it better, just awwwwww...I love that Shen Wei doesn't absolutely need this, but Zhao Yunlan needs to make it better for him, so...

"Oh, lemon and ginger? You're making tea! And - honey, yeah. For your honey, of course. You are the sweetest thing to me."

OMG Zhao Yunlan. Filter off and hopeless sap is basically the first thing out of the gate, of course...


"What? You have a glorious ass, and just because I spent five minutes on it when you were cooking - "

"Ten," Shen Wei says.

And the second thing, of course...(how bright red were Shen Wei's ears turning for some of this...!)

"I love all the sounds you make for me," he says, and okay, that send a completely different kind of shiver down Zhao Yunlan's spine.

Meanwhile. Shen Wei just...ruining him. While he can't really take advantage and really, Shen Wei, have mercy!

that's not because he doesn't want to hear Zhao Yunlan humming the intros of his favorite childhood TV shows.

Heeee of course he would...and that is totally the thing one starts humming, when you have to hum something...(the reminder before of his mother though, ouch and aww...)

"You," Shen Wei says, "Are taking tomorrow off. To sleep."

And Shen Wei steps up to the caretaking plate...

"Please? It's so hard falling asleep without you?"

"You fall asleep everywhere," Shen Wei says.

"With you! The only reason you think that is that you see me fall asleep, and that's because you're there."

!!!! THIS IS TOO CUTE !!!!!

I'm sorry if I've said anything too weird?" he mumbles.

Shen Wei laughs softly. "You, Zhao Yunlan? Never."

And Shen Wei fondly teasing is the best for my heart, the best~~~ And then he tucks him into bed and is going to watch him sleep for a while (and maybe sleep himself, eventually, Shen Wei you should sleep too!) And then they can get up and start really house-hunting!

I still don't believe you did this whole thing in one day, heeee you are amazing! :D

I was pretty much writing this with all filters off and just typing away, so I'm particularly pleased that came across as cute and Zhao Yunlan instead of weird and disjointed!

Oh, yes, and the dream-eater is a baku! Which I have now learned came from China, but didn't have nightmare-eating properties there. Fascinating stuff (and yes even with this much writing I still had the time to fall into a couple of research holes, including this and the goji leaf soup...).

Whee, I'm so glad the comfort-tag works for you? With Zhao Yunlan starting out, and then he needs Shen Wei to care for him, and then he can keep taking care of Shen Wei...really, these two, I am so soft for them having domesticity and happiness and future plans. (The fact that they had a house in Spark definitely made me jump straight to it when Zhao Yunlan was looking around his apartment for things to talk about and having the 'why is it just my stuff' reaction.)
