Yeah, I've been all over the place here -- I've had fandoms that I actually honestly hated the canon, but I still loved the fandom and the fic -- and so hating on the fandom was part of how I enjoyed it; I needed that distance from it to enjoy the fic. And then yeah, some fandoms can get too negative for me. Over time I've come to care more about -- not necessarily being more positive, but to limit my negativity, do my best to contain it so it doesn't spoil things for other fans. Because I know what it feels like to see people dissing something I love, and it just sucks, and I don't want to do that to someone else.
