--But there was a polar bear in Lost this week! "He like bears?" *giggles* Also the Michael-Sawyer stuff, awwww. This show does bring on the hurt/comfort. (and the pretty boys. Add Desmond to the list - look at those big crazy puppy eyes!)
And I got the YGO movie in Japanese! Er, without subs. But all the same. ...Yes, I realize it's probably better in the English in this case, because something this bad could only be funnier dubbed. But I really am that allergic to dubs. Andin lust with Tsuda-sama's voice enjoy hearing Kaiba boast. Need to watch the whole thing, but at least the end is not quite as stupid as in the American version of the movie ani-manga. (and Mokuba bandaging Kaiba's arm! awww!) It's interesting how they...umm...translate these things. "You're still the true Duel King, Yugi, I will defeat you," (and he uses omae! I didn't know Kaiba knew any other form of "you" besides kisama!) becomes "Enjoy your last days of being champion while you still can" and "You really are a true Duelist, Kaiba-kun," becomes "It's nice to have the old Kaiba back!" and Yugi talks about his friends and his mou hitori but doesn't have that irritating line about Kaiba not having people he loves to share his victories with, which ticked me off because, uh, what is Mokuba, chopped flarn?

Date: 2005-10-25 08:50 pm (UTC)I hardly think I'd have been hooked and reeled in by YGO (or even anime in general for that matter) if it weren't for hearing him voice Kaiba on the HKs I bought back in the day (before I knew they were, shall we say, iffy?) I loved the off-handed, almost lazy contempt with which he addressed Jounouchi. And the snarl in his voice when he thinks Pegsu has hurt Mokuba ... hoo-boy!
Did you ever see his website? He looks a lot, IIRC, like Sorimachi Takashi (the guy who did the LA GTO.)

Date: 2005-10-25 09:01 pm (UTC)Heh, I only watch the HKs, can't take my anime dubbed. And I've a long history of falling in love with seiyuu, but Tsuda's become one of my faves. I fell in love with Kaiba's char in the Duelist Kingdom manga, but I don't know if I'd've so eagerly devoured the show without his voice...I don't fastfoward through Kaiba's duels so I can listen to him shout at his monsters. ^^
No, haven't seen his website! Where??? I've seen one pic that he looks like an adorable skinny geek, but any pic that he looks like that would be...! (if we're speaking of sex...Sorimachi, gaaaah...)

Is there a 12-step program for folks like us?
Seriously, chasing down every last scrap of work Shiozawa Kaneto did has guided a great deal of my anime watching over the past 2 years.

Date: 2005-10-25 09:15 pm (UTC)Heh. I first started watching Vision of Escaflowne because I wanted to hear Chichiri doing his serious voice all the time. Since then it's only gotten worse, I've just collected enough favorite seiyuu that nearly every show tends to have at least one or two of my faves (and I'm really trying to resist watching PoT, because Tsuda is in so very little and I want to hear him not being Kaiba!)(meanwhile Takeuchi Junko, who is Mokuba, is in everything these days - well, she does do one of the best little-boy voices ever, I already was fond of her from HxH - and it's very distracting to catch an ep and be expecting Naruto to start shouting "Nii-sama!"...)
