I love the internet
Nov. 23rd, 2003 10:20 pmGotta love the 'net. I needed to know what a rattlesnake's rattle actually sounds like, so hopped on Google and dug up some .wavs in five minutes.
For future reference, it's a buzzing rattle (or a rattling buzz?), though it depends on the species, the size of snake, how cold the snake is, etc.
If you don't hear much from me in the next week, or if what you do hear is shorter, brusque, or generally loopier than usual, I apologize in advance. It's the last week of NaNoWriMo and I'm down to the wire here. With 34K words, I need to do another 16,000 in the next seven days, and my parents are coming for Thanksgiving - don't get me wrong, I love my folks, and hell, half the reason my mother wants to come is to watch more Saiyuki! But it's a teensy bit stressful (even if they told me that they'll reconsider their plans if I really need the writing time - seriously, I love my parents). I do want to see them, but my apartment looks about what you'd expect, I was hoping to take some time Tuesday to watch X-2, and my supervillain has yet to confess to me exactly why he's doing what he's doing, or, perhaps more importantly, how he's doing it. Being stark raving bonkers at least partly covers the why, but the how remains a mystery. I was sort of hoping to have figured it out by now...
Meanwhile, if I get really desperate, Val and Cash are so ending up in the sack together. Yay for word-count inflating smut!

Date: 2003-11-26 06:01 am (UTC)incidentally, Aki, my mom has read & enjoyed your fic ^_^ (my mother? is all for the yaoi. she loved Trismegistus's stories as well..."They're quite graphic, aren't they, is Trismegistus a man? He seems to know a lot about gay sex." "Er, pretty sure she's a she, Mom, I know quite a few women who write slash with, uh, that level of detail...")
