And for my next trick - a multiparter Smallville fic (my first!) and a crossover, just for kicks. Because we all love Static Shock! Or at least I do, and you should too, because it's fun and cute. And gay. Gay as only teenage boys who hug and have sleepovers and fight crime together can be. Gay as in the series creator actually said that Richie is gay, he just wasn't allowed to state it plainly on a Saturday morning cartoon. (No, really. Admittedly he was thinking more about being socially conscientious and not so much about throwing fuel on the already-blazing slash fire, but hey. You take what you can get.)

This fanfic - is not nearly as gay as it ought to be, all things considered. So there will be Virgil/Richie and Clex (naturally) but it's more a Lex Luthor story than anything, because supervillains are the r0xx0r. Yeah.

PG, futurefic; Smallville/Static Shock crossover, and I've been watching a lot of JLU lately so that might sneak in a bit, too.

For those unfamiliar with Static Shock, Robert Hawkins is the father of Virgil Hawkins, a.k.a. electric-charged superhero Static. Richie Foley is Virgil's best friend cum sidekick/partner cum lover, a.k.a. supergenius superhero Gear. And we all know who Lex Luthor and Superman are, yes? Excellent. On with the show!

Excellent! I love the conversation between Robert and Lex, the barely contained back and forth between them and the way they're both having two conversations at once.

I'll be looking forward to the next chapter!

Man, this is *good* - all that ambiguity, Hawkins responding to his beliefs about "Luthor," and Lex confounding him. I don't know the Static Shock or JLU 'verses, so I don't know if you're writing Luthor or Lex, and I love it!

Not to mention the kidnapping. A vortex appearing out of nowhere? That ain't no normal kidnapping :)

Please please please post again fast! Faster than fast!

I seriously did not want to read this, and even more seriously did not want to get caught up in it, especially when it frustrates the heck out of me that you're embarking on this new project instead of working on any one of the others you already have in progress that I'm so much more invested in. But your writing is just too enticing, even when I don't know one of the characters involved and barely have a clue about Smallville and Static Shock. And the Lex/Hawkins byplay and the portrait of smooth, classy, treacherous Lex are too well done, and the cliffhanger too intriguing for me not to be in the same state as everyone else who's reviewed this, anxiously awaiting the next installment. Damn you!! Couldn't it at least have been a Smallville/Spectrum crossover?

Yow! I love the start you've made here. I've never seen Static Shock, so I'm starting from scratch with those characters, but I adore both Smallville's Lex and the JLU's Lex, and I'm already fascinated by your kidnapping set-up, so I'm definitely in this to the end. Lex's conversation with Robert was great, with all its hidden layers, and Lex's pristine white suit and deep purple limousine made me smile. Please, please, keep writing! Suspense can kill, you know?

That Lex is a *very* intriguing blend of Smallville and JLU. *adores JLU!LEx*
Man, why is the Static Shock crossover episode the only JLU episode I
ve never seen? I wanna watch it now!

I've never seen Static Shock, so I'm not really getting all of what's happening, but some of it's getting through and it's interesting. I'll try to keep reading and understanding. So far I'm liking this though.
