gnine just posted her second fanvid, and I hereby command all Clexers on the flist to go watch it, and leave her gushing comments, so she is inspired to do more vids! Specifically, so she is inspired to do more vids for me, as I lack the time and talent to do them myself, and am eager to exploit encourage her mad skillz.

Clex vid: Dela

I also tell you to go watch it because it is the cutest vid ever, no really. I wanted happy!Clex and this delivers in spades. It's to Johnny Clegg's "Dela,"* which is one of the happiest love songs I know, and if you can watch this and not be convinced that Lex is totally completely head-over-heels...well, watch it again! (er...I may be biased. A little teeny bit.) The best part is she managed to find quite a bit of 5th and 6th season footage fitting the theme (even if some of it is edited in wildly out-of-context ways. Most especially the bit from "Promise" near the end.)

(Okay, and I have to admit, I feel very much like the godmother of this vid, considering how much time I spent downloading codecs for her when only my laptop was getting the wireless, and looking up tutorials on how to use After Effects or trying to figure out why Premiere stopped working (the gods of slash did not want this vid made) but it was totally worth the travails.)

* I am something of a Johnny Clegg fan now (mostly thanks to naye's great taste in music) but my first exposure to "Dela" was in the live-action George of the Jungle, which I confess to having liked more than anyone ought to. (Okay I actually own it on DVD. Brendan Fraser in a loincloth! Come on!) This lead to the passing thought of "Clark of the Jungle" and Lex, of course, as the billionaire heiress swept off his feet by the jungle lord, and Oliver Queen as the repulsive fiance Lyle, and would that make Jonathan or Jor-El the Ape Named Ape? and...I stopped there. Consider yourselves lucky.

I loved the video (and let gnine know how much) and when I heard the song flashed on George immediately! Can't tell you how many times I've watched that movie. Mmmm, loincloths...

And I have a file in my Future Fics collection that um, is a CLex movie remix of 'George of the Jungle'.

Omigawd, I just flashed on how to do the remix! It is completely out there and not really a remix so much as it provides a jumping off point. I just sent myself notes to my home account from work. I'm supposed to be working!!!

I so do not need another WIP right now. Curse you, xparrot!!!
