GB - more on shounen mag 7
Jan. 17th, 2004 07:51 pm[J-chan's Japanese is a fair bit better than mine but she was doing this on the fly as she chatted, so it may not be entirely accurate.]
Okay, so summary so far....
Starts with Kazuki-tachi and Akabane and Hevn, etc, all standing around going "'Earthquake' or whatever has stopped, is it over? Lets go find out"...and from what I can tell Akabane might pass on the going to see, wasn't positive.
Anyway, flip to all the people that were watching watcing Ginji and Shido fight. They're all sensing the spirit of Kabuto saying he doesn't wanna die and then they're like OMG his real form is this little bug. And then Ban shows up and I *THINK* he's like "so this little bug has been the problem".
Then there's a WHOLE bunch of talkie talkie...the bug is talking about the strength of humans, something about living for eternity, I think that's what the bug wants...
Ginji goes to destroy it, and Ban tells him to stop, that their business is concluded: "It's not your burden anymore, so sleep." And then Ginji/Raitei (who is holding dead Shido) collapses into Ban's arms and he catches both of them. There's this little adorable shot of both Shido and Ginji unconscious on the ground and Ban is crouching over them with this little smile.
Then Shido's tachi all start talking, something about killing over and over again and it's their grudge ...or maybe it's actually Ban talking to all of them about repeatedly killing. Ban is saying that it's human nature and pride that brought out Kabuto's evil, and now Ban's like "Leave it to me, it's what Shido asked me in to do so"(...well, actually he says sarumawashi but...) And then there's something about Shido giving his life to save Madoka and Ban's saying Shido's an idiot now for dying, how will that make her happy--"Don't you understand, your dying so she can live is bad, it's just your satisfaction, it makes no one else happy".
...and now Ban grabs dead Shido and is shaking him and yelling, shouting "What good is you dying" or something equivalent.
Then a whole bunch of people show up, and Emishi comes running up going "Amon, you live" kinda thing, and Hevn's like "is everyone else all right?" Kaoru goes, "Everyone's fine...but"
and Hevn's like "But?" and Ban's like, "Monkey trainer's dead?" (I don't know why there's a question mark) And Emishi freaks out, "usoyaro!"
I think Hevn's telling Ban to do the kiss of life, actually, but Ban's like, "I can't, last time Maria and Lucifer were there, there's nothing I can do." So Emishi is all sad, and Amon looks serious and then smiles and tells Emishi to move aside.
Amon: "It'll be okay, I can let Shido live again."
Emishi: "Really?"
Amon: "Yeah."
Then Ban flips and is like, "Masaka!" and the other guy of the Shido tachi says, "It's Amon's choice."
And Amon does this cool thingy and kinda transfers the kimera thing to Shido.
Amon: "This is good."
[Then J-chan realized she was going to miss her class, so she rushed the end] Anyway, Amon says, "I'm gonna die, probably" and Emishi freaks and then they have a few exchanges that seem to be half puns. Then Amon disappears, and Emishi says something about even at the end he was still using bad kansai.
and there's something about not laughing...I think...Emishi is almost IMPOSSILBE to understand...stupid kansai...anyway, it's sad.

Date: 2004-01-17 05:52 pm (UTC)...I'm not surprised, because the more I hear about Amon post-v22 (which is all I had to go on for almost all the time I've been RPing him), the more he sounds like Amon as he's developed in the RPG and in my head, and yes, that's so very much what he would do. But... AUGH! I want him BACK! Now! Poor Emishi! *wails*
And I simultaneously can't wait to get my hands on and sort of don't want to see the magazine, which I am hoping I might be able to get my hands on as early as Thursday, depending... I just realized I might have gotten #4/5 during the #4 week, not the #5 week, so I don't know now if #7 will have arrived yet when I go to Sasuga on Thursday or Saturday. I guess I'd better call them. (And yes, when I get my hot little hands on it I will scan it, if nobody else has by then.)

Date: 2004-01-17 06:56 pm (UTC)& I'm not counting Amo-yan completely gone myself until this arc is over and done with. Look at Toshiki!
(it does amuse me a little, however, that we are all so upset for Emi-yan - it's been months for us, but really, Emishi has known him for what, maybe twenty-four hours? ^^;)

Date: 2004-01-17 07:25 pm (UTC)I mean, okay. Emishi and Amon meet, they hit it off like no one's business, instant best buddies.
Flash forward to the summary you posted. Their mutual friend Shido, Emishi's best bud for years (and hey, I'll admit I didn't want to like Amon when I first heard of his existance, because I like Emishi's worshipping Shido ;)), gets killed. Both, understandably, are not happy with this. Emishi freaks out, gets all sad. And Amon thinks about this for a moment, then smiles and gives up his life without a thought.
Perhaps at least partially because he knows how much it would hurt Emishi to lose Shido...? After all, he just showed up, they don't have a big history together like Emishi does with Shido. So, he thinks, Emishi would be happiest if Shido lived.
...Wah.

*chokes* AMON, YOU SUCK.

Date: 2004-01-17 08:34 pm (UTC)...but actually I think you can blame Sabina for that. ;) Since the Japanese expression doesn't seem to have anything about hearts in it. (It's 話さなきゃって, which is something or other based on the verb 話す (hanasu), to speak.)
(On the other hand, the part where Amon asks Emishi what he'd do if he had to 'spill out the vessel of [his own] life' for Shido? AUGH.)
