Hope everyone is having a good one so far, and may 2008 be a vast improvement on 2007! (seems everyone else I know had their asses kicked by '07. But it's over now - take that, calender!)

Be happy, be healthy; be safe, be wild; be peaceful, be noisy; be comfortable, be exhilarated; be warm in the winter and cool in the summer and be sure to be outside for at least a little while on that perfect sunny spring day and exquisite crisp autumn evening.

Um. Hi. I don't mean to barge in or anything, but I had to tell you this, just to make sure that you know.

I love your story On the Wings Of Imagination (http://community.livejournal.com/sga_flashfic/680544.html). I really do. I Love Rodney and I love Shepparth. They are awesome. The story is awesome.

Anne McCaffrey has specifically said that she does not want anyone other then people she approves to be writing Pern. I have half a dozen Pern stories on my hard drive that will never see the light of day because of this.

I... I love your story. But I don't want you to get in trouble. FF.Net kicks people off if they post fanfiction that's Pern related and I don't want LJ to boot you.

I thought I'd tell you here instead of commenting at the story. I'm sorry if I sound like a horrible person, I just don't want you to get into any trouble.

Okay, so it's been a while since I saw the McCaffrey site, and I found that she's changed the rules.

I'm sorry that I made the mistake!! OMG Do I feel stupid about not checking up on her rules to see if they'd changed before I commented here. I just didn't want you to get into trouble because I love your story! I didn't want it to go away, promise!

No worries, no offense taken! I don't think it would have been a problem anyway (I'd heard McCaffrey was already permitting Pern fanfic as long as it did not feature canon characters, and lj doesn't tend to garner the attention ff.net does anyway) but I appreciate the concern, and how polite you were about it. I'm glad to hear she is allowing fanfic now, at any rate; as a writer, I have strong philosophical objections to creators who try to barricade their works from those who love them, and that she was one of the authors who did lowered my opinion of her.

Maybe now you can post your own Pern stories, good luck with them!

Hi there! Belated though it is, I just wanted to say that I love your New Year's wishes for everyone. Very nice thoughts. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
