SGA ficlet for "Kindred pt.1"

I have committed McShep again--just over 500 words, this time. Spoilers for "Kindred, Part 1" (none for part 2)...just a passing thought about one bit in the beginning of the ep. Slashy implications, really rather silly.

This is exactly how I saw Rodney's gift - sure, a little egolicious, but he took the time and made the effort to do something for Teyla and the baby - like he never did for Jeannie. Sure, it's hours of him and physics, and we're all a little concerned it'll be like his "leadership" video (nice way to twig back to that), but what a thing for him to do! He never would have done that even two years ago! The guy's learning, he's thinking about others, and he's letting his heart be a part of the thinking process. Well done. :) And thank you for showing that Teyla understood all that - she's not my favorite character, but that made me so pleased with her. She'll be a good mommmy to the baby (as she's been a good mommy to the team! :) )

As for the "leadership" video - I keep flipping and flopping between whether Rodney would have deleted the vid off the server by now, or if he is, as you said in a comment, proud of the thing, even though he meanders of tangent all through it. As a comic tool, though, it's gold. :)

I'm glad you enjoyed the ficlet - and yes, when I first watched "Kindred 1" I was a bit annoyed at how Rodney had been written, but really, for all it's played for laughs, he did put time and thought into the first - and that's what counts! Especially for Rodney, who doesn't think he anything to offer except his science, I don't think...
