SGA fic: A Rational Universe

Flist, I am torn. I want a John-Rodney hug. So badly I can taste it. I need it to screencap and iconize and build shrines to and rewatch until the avi burns out. On the other hand, I fear I may explode from squee if they actually do go that far. It's a conundrum! (but what a way to go...)

With the sga_genficathon closed, I turn back to sga_flashfic. Still failing as badly as ever at the actual flash part - well, I write them in a flash, this one took about twelve hours from idea to completion. I've been blocked of late, so started writing with the merest germ of an idea heading somewhere, which immediately darted off in a different direction the moment I began to type. I kind of love how stories can do that.

Also, I have slashed! Not pussy-footing masquerading-as-gen McShep, and not a teasing one-sided ficlet, but the real deal.
...Now everyone can tell me how I should never be doing it again, as I manage to hit not only my own lovingly overused cliches (I really need to stop putting Rodney on drugs, I know. But this is me, I can't help myself!), but many traditional fandom-wide ones as well. And skipped the smut to boot. Oops?

I've just discovered your wonderful gen which makes you one of just three writers to tempt me away from McShep - and here you are writing slash! Too cool. Welcome!

I like this muchly, there can never be too much well-written RodneyWhumping. I thought Rodney not knowing he was back/rescued was very nicely done - I had to go back a second time to see the join between incarcerated and rescued. Fab.

Really, I tend to think of my gen as McShep, just not explicitly so. It's all about the John-Rodney love either way! And thanks, glad you enjoyed the story (there needs to be more Rodney-whump~!)

Hee - one problem with being a gen-fan is that I am largely position-blind - I don't really think about who's where, when reading or writing. (Yup, even though I'm also a yaoi fan, and it's even more significant in Japanese fiction...) This story required Rodney to take the lead, because I wanted him to have that freak-out about 'taking advantage', but that's not going to always be true...

LOL! I would love a John & Rodney hug in S5. I wonder if we'll get it. :)

Many of us would love it, I believe! Though making these boys hug in character will be tricky (aw, heck, even if it's OOC I'd still be happy!)
