This isn't quite what I want to read, because what I want to read is a 40,000+ word novelization of "The Shrine" that explores everything we didn't see of every day, and all we missed afterwards, too. But I don't have the time or energy to do that myself, so here's a few missing moments, because we didn't get as much Zelenka as we were supposed to, and that's tragic.

SGA: All the Myriad Faces {~3,500 words}
PG, gen angst; tag to 5x06 "The Shrine"
"It's not that Radek is afraid of the infirmary, but he doesn't have much reason to come."

Read it on AO3

I'm glad you didn't write the novel, because I wouldn't have had time to read that over breakfast this morning, and then I would have seriously missed out.

*hugs fic to chest* This is...I love how you catch Radek's changing feelings, the guilt and fear and relief all bundled up together in a fantastic tangle. The tone is so spot on, weighed down and scared, and I love your descriptions of Ronon so much. Just....*flails for words*... Wonderful.

*HEART!!!* Ronon & Radek characterization makes me dance like a ... dancing fool! *squishes hands together in ecstasy*

Especially the little touches, like this:
adjusting his glasses as he sits back down. Ronon's hand is heavy, without gripping; his strength is comforting, not a threat.

Wow. There was just something missing from that episode, and it was very noticeable. How you've managed to catch Zelenka in this...oh, it left me lost for words here, I do admit. Thank you so much.

Awww, this was really neat, a great glimpse of a side of the episode we didn't see. Lovely Radek characterization, and really neat to get the Radek-Ronon interaction!

Awww! If anything was missing from that episode, it was Radek, and now you give his perspective to us! Such great characterization, both Radek and Ronon (and Ronon through Radek's eyes!), and you really feel what Rodney means to Radek, who is not a teammate, but "just" a friend.

Wonderful characterizations. Of course, Ronon would be the first to notice that something was off with Rodney and he would be there til the end to make sure he was okay. And Radek...well, Radek was perfect. The two of them brought a tear to my eye. Thanks for sharing!

That was absolutely lovely. I love that insight look at Ronon from Radek's POV and I love how Rodney's team and his coworkers relate to him - their relief that Rodney is back, acerbic genius intact. Wonderful fic.

Oh, Radek! Oh, this was sweet. This totally should've been a scene in the episode! :)

Heh - really I don't want to write the novelization myself, I want someone else to write it, so I can read it. Very demanding, I am! XP

So glad this story worked for you! Radek's feelings are so confused I was afraid the fic wouldn't make sense, so...I'm very glad to know the emotion came across!

Hee - I don't write enough Ronon or Zelenka, so killing two birds with one stone here! Very glad they both worked for you. <3

I adore the ep, but oh, I wish they hadn't cut the Radek scene. Very glad this worked for you.

Radek and Ronon are fun together! Though I really wish we'd gotten to see Radek in the ep...

Radek's an interesting character because he's not exactly an outsider, but he's not quite in the inner circle, either. So his perspective's fascinating to explore. He does love Rodney, though, and I wish we could've seen him in the ep...

So glad you enjoyed it! I'm really curious who was the first one to realize something was wrong with Rodney, and since Ronon's seen this disease before, I thought he might've caught on first...

Thank you! Radek's got an interesting perspective on the team, not quite an outsider but not quite in; it's fascinating to explore it.

This was so nice. I love Radek's hesitancy - to see McKay's decline, to interrupt Ronon's vigil, to truly believe that Rodney is healed. Lovely characterization of Radek and Ronon. I particularly like how Radek finally accepts Rodney is healed by Ronon's reaction - ignoring the science for the emotion.

Wonderful. Seriously, you *should* write the novelization, especially if it's on a par with this lovely piece of writing. I can visualize the entire scene, and it kind of made me choke up a little. Good stuff!

Oh!!!

"Told you," Ronon says, like he's eight years old, all but sticking out his tongue. But there's nothing jeering in his smile; the triumph and joy leave no room for that.

And that last line. Beautiful!

Absolutely lovely to see some of Radek here. He definately fit, and you wove him into this brilliantly. Excellent job with him and Ronon - beautiful!

Well, this is as much a Ronon fic as it is a Zelenka fic, and you write both of them awesomely!! Great tag :-)

This is lovely.

I really missed Radek from the episode, but this was perfectly how I would expect him to react.

Yes, Radek's a scientist, but he's got a great heart, too, and when it's this emotional a situation feelings trump reason.
