I am going to Japan in a couple days! *squeaks excitedly* Getting a little nervous at the same time...oddly enough, it's not the flying that scares me, but the other details of travel...what if I miss my flight at the layover, or my luggage ends up in New Zealand, or the shuttle can't find my sister's apaato so I'm left wandering around Kyoto with my minimal Japanese...(I can ask where the bathroom is, or vow to kill someone for the sake of a friend. That's about the limit of my nihongo.) But - I'm finally going!

In other news, a One Piece drabble.

As a child, Zoro saw little point to laughter. Nothing funny about swords, and that was all that mattered.

As he got older he found reasons. A pirate's empty threats, meaningless to him. 'I'll kill you.' The best joke. He enjoyed how their faces changed at his sharp chuckle as he pulled his swords, when they realized that however many of them there were, he wasn't afraid. He always cut it short before the blood fell.

He's never laughed without meaning it. But it's only since he met this pirate king that when he starts, he isn't able to stop.

*yawn* off to bed~.

Ahh, makes me squishy, this does. Love it.

Heh, and I sympathize with your worries. Of course, I get vaguely terrified about the actual flying too, but last time it was the getting from airport A to airport B that worried me - and I can ask for directions in English! ^^ Without accidentally insulting someone by sounding like a teenage boy in a street-gang or something. Ah, the joys of learning just enough of a language to royally piss its native speakers off! Threatening to kill them for the sake of a friend indeed...

Ah...Kyoto,

I WANT TO GO TO KYOTO! Don't worry if you get lost most police and young people speak some English and are very helpful. Usually if you look like a pathetically lost foreigner long enough, someone will try to help you. Its a tourist town with lots of English speaking tourist, so surely you'll find someone who can set you back on the right course. If not, you can always just hide in the bathroom you have asked how to find until its time to go back to the airport to catch your return flight!

Have fun!
