So Otakon was great fun as always. Especially good to see my brother again - first time he's gone since '01, and since he's on the West Coast now I don't see him that much. His Mihawk cosplay was a rousing success - totally pimpin', as he said - and most entertaining to hear the random shouts of "Mihawk!!!", followed by the shouters' acquaintances asking, "...uhh, who??" He and his friend also made a marvelous Tseng and Rude; my sis & I ended up not doing the other Turks after all, but they hooked up with a pretty Reno and spent Saturday evening stalking every Cloud they could find.

Big group gathered for the One Piece photoshoot on Saturday, it's a shame it was so crowded because there wasn't much chance for posing pictures, and with that many Luffys and Zoros and all we could've done some great stuff. If anyone has a good shot of Mihawk slaying all the Zoros, please post it somewhere? We didn't get one! Nice variety of costumes, too - like the whole Arabasta crew, and a fantastic Bon Clay. And I met a few people! *waves hi to [livejournal.com profile] lady_karasu, [livejournal.com profile] ginnyseta, and [livejournal.com profile] dethorats (who now knows that I'm such an idiot that I can't recognize people in different wigs ^^;;; but the Afro-Luffy cosplay was distracting! and so funny!). Sorry I didn't see anyone else - I actually didn't see most of the responses to my last post until just now, I left too early. Maybe next year?

Met sis's beloved Kyoto crew, and she & I tracked down the artist of Schism, fangirled wildly and bought some prints (Ni, looking too sexy for his bunny. Eeee!) I thought Masquerade was funnier last year, but it was all worth it for the final skit...Utena, as realized by the Muppets. Seeing the Goblin King pull a sword from scarlet-dressed Kermit fulfilled a hitherto unknown need in me. And the L'arc concert was fun. ...the FMA dub they showed pre-concert, errr, not so much. Oh, Ed, what have they done to you...

As usual, the most fun I got was just being there, seeing all the crazy costumes and wild fans. I would sometime like to go to a much smaller anime con - Otakon has gotten so big that it doesn't allow for smaller discussion panels and such. Why can't we have an East coast version of Yaoicon? Or a One Piece con, that would be awesome. There were enough of us there...

So, until next year!

Oh, I wish I knew that you were going before yesterday...

I was one of the Sanzo's wandering around, on Saturday with Lirin, Yaone, Hakkai, Goku and Gojyo...Happen to see us? There weren't as many Sanzo's as I thought there would be.

Can't wait to see your pics!
