It's all the flashbacks throughout this chapter that just make it hurt so bad. And then, "Jaa na...Usopp. Ima made...tanoshikatta."

but Oda-sensei has never given anything an unhappy ending, has he?? in the end it always works out...it has to it has to...he is making this so exquisitely painful, it's all just because he likes to make us cry, but not for always...right? right??

I wanna know just what Sanji is yelling at Chopper, it's hard to make out...but Nami crying...and Luffy. Luffy, who doesn't cry, not for real...this is the first time since he was a kid, that we've seen.

Are they gonna leave Usopp behind, only to have him come in and save them all at the last minute? or or or or...no....they can't do this...not for real...can they? can he? Shounen Jump's last splash note is "Saraba Usopp!!!" - not even sayonara.

I want it to be the island, or something...Water 7 is a bad place, it worried Aokiji. Except it doesn't seem that way...that's what makes this so bad, because it's so absolutely in character. I have one one hope that this isn't quite as bad as it seems, because Zoro is so damn calm about it. And Zoro understands things, a lot, he might realize that Luffy is doing this...for some reason, somehow...but it could just be because Luffy is his captain. I need better scans to make out just what Zoro says in that final "Captain daro" speech...

...either way I have a terrible feeling this isn't gonna be resolved for a while...most agonizing arc ever...

Haven't had much chance online lately, am having too much fun with naye here, and gnine back! But why must Oda-sensei disrupt our happy angst-fic-plotting with so much trauma?

I do believe it is going to be worked out, somehow, but... I believe, and at the same time it's so hard to see any actual resolution that won't feel like our hearts have been ripped out and Odachi's happily tapdancing on them. Because it's Oda, because his plots don't work like normal plots do, because his characters are in no way predictable... This would be painful even KNOWING things were going to be all right again. Now we don't, and there are no guarantees, except for the one fact that One Piece is about nakama, and you don't DO this to your nakama. You don't leave them behind. And you don't make your navigator cry, Luffy you bastard!! (Except Luffy's crying too so it's really hard to be upset with him... it's just... I BLAME ODA-SENSEI!!)

This was not something I should have read at work... and I certainly shouldn't have looked at the scans. OMG Oda-sensei~! That man must have a sadistic streak, because that HURT to read. >_< I hope it works out- One Piece got such a tight grip on my heart BEACUSE of the nakama-ship. I can't stand seeing it crumble like this... *cries*

And yes, Oda-sensei likes to hurt us. he likes making people cry. But he likes making them laugh, too, which is what I'm counting on to win out in the end...it better...!! I expect something like Fullmetal Alchemist to break my heart...but One Piece is my happy place, he can't ruin that!!!
