Congratulations to anyone who made it all the way here to the end! And my greatest thanks to everyone who's left comments or recced or bookmarked this story. This is, to my knowledge, the longest Gintama fic online, as well as the longest story I've personally written in years; when I started it I wasn't sure if anyone would read it except for me, so it makes it all worthwhile to know I'm not alone in loving these cracked-out characters in their cracked-out world. I can only hope I did them justice!

Btw, semi-unrelated, but I just read the Valentines chapter of the manga, and Kagura's speech ("I have enough love to capsize the Earth several times over! So I’ll find a way to convey it for sure!") + the ending scene with the chocolates has had my heart in the approximate consistency of pudding all day. The finale of this fic melted me completely. I'm gonna have to paint you a picture or write you a song or something~ Ahhh this has been a wonderful, wonderful journey! ♥ ♥

And awwww, hee, the Valentine's chapter! I haven't quite read it (I flipped through the raw Japanese chapter but didn't try reading all of it - I've been trying to be good and wait for the anime, but haven't always been able to resist ^^;) but it did look awfully silly (XDXDXDXD forever to Shinpachi's "I don't want chocolate, I just want love!" and Gin-san's, "I don't want love, I just want sugar!") and awwwwwfully cute... <3

And, um, your reviews are more than thanks enough, really...but fan art for my stuff does make me go completely 'splodey, if you are inspired... ^^

I recommend the new anime (old manga) Level E to tide you over until Gintama returns, by the way. It's only 9 episodes (the manga is only 2-3 volumes long, depending on the printing), and it's the exact same brand of humor as Gintama and a stellar production that far exceeded my expectations (even though I'd originally lined it up with that purpose in mind — to stave off Gintama-withdrawal). It has done wonders for me :]

Ahhh, I will definitely have to check it out! (am a fan of YYH and HxH, so...) (I think I'd heard of it before, actually, though I didn't know anything about it...it stars a Baka-ouji, though? Was Sorachi a fan of the manga, mayhaps? ^^)

That's not the only thing it has in common with Gintama - in fact there is an arc in Level E that has my friend and I willing to bet a significant amount of money that Sorachi is a fan of this manga. :DDD

What, should I say something more coherent? The above is exactly what reading this ending makes me feel, though. From the resolution of the Gekkon problem, and the human parents and Gintoki's need to keep the family together, and the porno mags (lol, that's exactly what he would do) and Kagura's innocence, and then they go home and everything is well, except perhaps that Sadaharu needs a walk, and of course "no dying" is the first unspoken rule, and... *melts into a puddle*

I love this fic so much. Can't compare it to other Gintama fics, since I haven't read any, but it keeps true to canon, and in character, and also presses my buttons like whoa. ♥ I'm so glad you wrote it and shared it!
