...and of course to say ZOMGZOMGZOMG HOMESTUCK UPDATE! Which is pretty much exactly how I expected it to go, but still dying to know what happens next!

(also, seriously, how the hell does this fandom have such amazing fanfic? The baseline quality is higher than average - especially since I'd have expected HS demographics to be similar to the anime crowd, which tends to be weighted toward the badfic. There must be badfic in HS, too, but then there's stuff like ˃Connect which is seriously awesome. ...And I'm not just saying that because it practically OT4s the kids. Or because it has John and Jade double-black-romming Karkat, which I didn't even know I wanted until I was reading it. But seriously, even putting that aside, awesome O_O)

Homestuck fandom is awesome and made of win. I've heard bad things about wank and shipwars, but it's mostly just a fantastic fandom in the spaces I go to. ♥

Heh - I've actually been avoiding most of HS fandom save reading the fic (and downloading sheetmusic on the forums! okay, and a little tumblr'ing...) because I don't want to encounter bad stuff - but the good parts are so very shiny!

Me too! I was kind of guessing "Jack" for Grandpa/Grandson, since we did know he had a "J" name from the letters. But "Jake" is close!

Although, "Jake English" made me horrimused. I did not see that one coming.

And I'm so, so curious about the adult versions of the kids we know! (Did Adult!Dave make a movie of his shitty webcomic??) Jane mentioned a Dad. *waku waku*

Jack would've been a little weird, given Jack Noir! Jake is still 4 letters, though, so works...only one letter off from Jade, too. And Jane is the feminine form of John...

Jake English, Jane Crocker...none of this bodes well at all!

True about Jack. I wasn't really thinking, I was all excited about a name, so I just felt it sounded right, being the second most basic male name after "John" (at least on TV, heh.).

Jane Crocker makes sense, at least. Nanna was probably Jane Crocker too before she married someone named Egbert. And Grandpa would have been Jake Crocker before he took the dog's name. XD

It seems they're not raised as siblings in this version, though, which begs the question - why English!? O___O

According to this conversation here, I've been assuming that they're going to meet alternate (adult) versions of themselves. Because of the "preserving ourselves" thing. Perhaps the beta kids (our kids, sburb beta) will wait for the alpha kids (sburb alpha) in the Medium? Especially since Jade brought along the planets and everything.

Of course, there's no proof of that scenario. I just like the idea of the kids meeting adult versions of themselves AND kid versions of their Guardians.

And... it sort of seemed like the trolls might be Exiles? At least that glimpse of an Exile monitor we got had writing in Alternian script.

I was very curious what was up with that! In every other session we know of, the Exiles were the chess-people of Skaia...but in the trolls' session, the Exile monitor was in Alternian as well. So, ummm...I don't know??

Yea, it is pretty much exactly what I expected and yet I am still so INCREDIBLY EXCITED TO SEE WHERE THIS IS GOING, OH MY GOD!
