xparrotI've been so good about writing regularly of late, I wasn't about to give up a winning streak for something so trivial as complete lack of inspiration. So yesterday I just wrote with no aim but the act of writing, and ended up with a fic so plotless and pointless I hesitate even to call it fluff. And about 5 pages longer than I intended, too.
A Thousand Thousand Years
It's GetBackers. Of course. The BanGin is devouring my fangirl soul. If the manga weren't enough, there's the anime. This final arc has been very frustrating, not only in how it's diverged from the manga, but how it's betraying its own storyline - where's my long complicated dramatic shounen fights? And there's no way they can wrap up everything--or anything!--in the TWO EPISODES they have left *sob*
But...but...Ban holding adorably floppy unconscious Ginji??? Doing nothing but trying to shake him awake and crying his name for over a minute?? In front of Kads & Juu and Dr.J, no less? Of course I melted - am I made of stone? Holding!

Date: 2003-09-11 02:31 pm (UTC)The later anime does have its moments - a couple of the standalone eps are worth it. 39 is as funny as everyone says. Really. I won't deny the manga is muchly better (even when I'm only understanding half of it, and that's with great effort...) but I enjoy the anime for what it is - and considering I wouldn't be into GB at all if I hadn't fallen in love with it, that's quite a bit of enjoyment!

Date: 2003-09-12 08:11 am (UTC)I really enjoyed the fic, too. :D It's adorable how Ban will subtly indulge his Gin-chan--but I must admit, the part that made me smile most was Ginji getting the book for MakubeX. <3<3<3 He's such a sweet boy. <3

Date: 2003-09-13 06:14 am (UTC)I'm sure it does, but at the moment I can't seem to get any energy to watch any anime (except PoT, but it's PoT, so it's understandable), and I'm really interested in seeing the hospital episode. The hot springs ep of GB broke my brain very muchly. Altho,I have more respect for Juubei now ^^
And god, do I know the pain of goign thru manga when you can only understand about half of it. My trsuty Chinese dictionary is my best friend at times ^^
