vacations are too short

Spent the last week in Seattle (Bellevue, actually) with the imouto gnine visiting the bro. Had a great time, though the week went by much, much too quickly.

Popped up across the border to meet chirachira and moonsheen, who are marvelous cute, and we even scored Chira-sketches to sell on Ebay for millions in a few years! (and learned that I am not alone in my complete lack of directional sense...) And met nekokoban the next day in Seattle, where we saw fish thrown and got much yummy free samples and manga (also yummy, but sadly not free). Big thanks to y'all for putting up with us, was wonderful to meet you! :DDDD

We also stayed up late with the bro, mostly vegging. I played enough Katamari Damacy to get the damn theme song thoroughly stuck in my head, and then he had to show me all his favorite eps of Futurama, and we also watched all of Firefly. Which is sadly only the 14 eps, but the movie is coming and the show might be renewed - it certainly deserves to be, and I desperately hope it is. I need more Mal. I mean, all the chars are great, but. Yeah. Mal.
Only problem I had with it really was that I loved the chars but didn't really ping off any of the pairings - 'cept Zoe/Wash, because come on - I love married couples and they're rarer than rare (plus I love platonic male-female friendships like Mal & Zoe's, which are even rarer) - but otherwise, it was the team-shipmates bond that got me. And I haven't gone looking yet but I s'pect finding non-pairing fic will be well-nigh impossible. (If there isn't any smarm, I wonder if Mal/Tam-sibs exists...either Simon or River...)

*snuggles* I've missed you! And I'm glad you had a good time. How sad is it that when I saw "Bellevue" I immediately thought "Wow, that's a AAA-area!"? (Because I've played too much Shadowrun. I know exactly where Bellevue is, and in the SR-verse, it's a very high-class neighborhood with top-level - AAA - security. Whee, I'm such a geek!)

I need to see Firefly. I've needed to see Firefly since I heard it was in the making, because Joss Whedon is good, but never really gotten around to it. Futurama, though - I've watched all of that, and I love it!

not so glad to be back, but missed you too! <333 and you are such a geek :P Bellevue is a pretty high-class town, tho', I think, at least my bro's apartment complex is way nice...(dammit, my little bro's first car is a BMW. geeeeeze!)

Yes, you need to see Firefly. and Futurama is great!! I'd seen eps here and there, but watching a whole bunch gave me a better idea of what the show could do...which is not only hysterical parody comedy but also pretty nifty scifi, and occasionally downright touching stories, too. not 'xactly what you'd expect! (...and I kinda ended up a Fry/Leela shipper in spite of myself. There's gotta be, like, help for that.)
