Was reading the latest chapter of GetBackers and the last page tickled a ficlet out of me. No fears, there's no spoilers in this, it was indirect inspiration only. I just haven't written any GB in a while and I missed these boys. 'sides, I need to get back in the spirit if I'm ever going to have a hope of finishing DV. Or that h/c drabble promised back in October.

So, here: BanGin, naturally, because it's me; stickily sappy, naturally, because it's them. Warning for gratuitous Kipling quoting.

"And it’s worth while seeking him half your days, If you find him before the other."

Oh, yes♥ (That's my favorite poem by Kipling, too, and it IS terribly appropriate for the GetBackers, I think. :D) This was adorable and very Ban -- jealous-but-not, and the GetBackers always being two♥♥

I'm not really into poetry, but I'm all over Kipling ^_^ I hadn't read the poem in years, wrote it into the story and then had to look it up to get the exact wording...and yeah, it's so totally them...

So nice to read something GetBackers from you again!

This little story was so wonderful. Sappy, yes, I must admit, but that is just the way I like it. It makes me go 'squee!'. I hope Ban now dares to realize that even if there are a lot of other people in Ginji's life, the GetBackers consists of Ban and Ginji, a unit.

Aww, aww, AWWW! And aww. ♥

I... aww. But it's not just fluffy and happy but the ache there, in Ban, it's what makes it perfect. Perfectly them, and there's a lot Ban doesn't admit even in privacy, but... oh, yes. The two of them. Together. And Ban like this, wanting to be together, knowing they are, but... Oh. Ban. ♥

Love. Seriously. Love. ♥

Oh hearts and glee- (I have "The Thousdanth Man" on my wall.)
This is such an awesome ficlet- It nails Ban on the head, perfectly and wonderfully. There's this lovely and wonderfully convayed sense of jelousey, but an achey jelousey, one that.. is so very Ban. (Sorry, can't spell worth my wife life today)

Hee - I love the poem myself, it's such a beautiful distillation of friendship, but I hadn't read it in years - had to look it up to get the exact quote, and lo it fits Ban&Ginji to a T!
Aw, yes, poor Ban-chan...has exactly what he wants, always at his side, and still can't quite believe he could ever be that lucky...

Catching up on LJ this morning. You really do have a knack for sweetly and poignantly capturing the devotion these two have for each other. All of your short GB pieces do it well and in a very satisfying, "awwwwww"-inspiring manner. The gratuitous Kipling quoting works *very* well here. Glad to see you writing B/G again.

Mmmmmm... Kipling at lunchtime; I don't even need dessert. That was GOOD. In-character perfectly; the sort of thing you'd expect Ban to think about while driving.
