Argh. December-January is invariably my worst time for writing; the winter gloom murders my creativity, though it hasn't even gotten below freezing here in Kyoto. This is ticking me off because I want to be fic'ing so dang badly. Maybe when the holidays are over. In the meantime all I'm able to manage is brief spurts like this pointless little Rodney & Ronon moment (well, not totally pointless, because there needs to be more Rodney & Ronon moments, in show and out.) 900 words of unnecessarily sappy gen fic.

Awwww! That's just lovely. I adore those two together, and I loved Ronon's thoughts on Rodney-sitting duty.

Three years on Atlantis and he was still getting used to the idea that there were people who maybe actually sort of didn't dislike being around him.

Hee, thanks! Yeah, they make the best duo...and I rather do think Ronon thinks something like this; we've seen him annoyed with Zelenka and Harriman and such, but he usually seems more amused by McKay than anything else...

This is sweet. I love Ronon and Rodney moments. And the fight scene in Vengeance was almost touching: Rodney decked out like a turtle, determined to become more proficient in self defense with Ronon's help.

he's just never wanted to ask, hadn't wanted to know if it was only on Sheppard's orders.

That sentence gives such a nice look into the team dynamic!

Thanks! Yeah, Ronon spends a lot of time just watching Rodney, even when he's not working. What gets me is also how comfortable Ronon seems in McKay's lab, the few times we've seen him there...one gets the feeling the whole team is used to hanging out there.

I don't tend to read much 'gen' fic (being something of a McShepperholic!) but Rodney/Ronon interaction can occasionally tempt me away from the slash ;)

And this was well worth the diversion. I love how these two interact on the show; there is real affection and respect - even if it is usually hidden behind threats on one side and bluster on the other - and you've captured that beautifully here.

XD I'm the opposite - usually gen, except the eeeevol McShep tempts me from the path (there is so much great, great slash in this fandom, it's hard to resist, even when the gen satisfies me more ^^)

Oh man, I loved this! Especially the bit where Rodney "stopped caring how often his gesturing hands would accidentally smack into an indecently broad, leather-coated chest." I thought that part was beautiful, and could SO see that happening. Also, your icon with Ronon hugging Rodney from behind; where does that image come from?
