Podfic & commentary

Thanks to urania_2006, there's now a podfic of my McShep flashfic "Speech Deprived," the one where Rodney loses his voice, and John's not as happy as might be expected - check it out here! And be sure to mention to urania_2006 that she is awesome.

And the lovely hils did a DVD commentary for my little Smallville dark-fic "Promises to Keep" - nifty, and terribly flattering, thank you! (Anyone else find it odd that we call them DVD commentaries, with no discs in sight? ...No? Carry on, then!)

On season 3 of Traders - the show's getting dark(er) - that's the problem with these kinds of dramas, they always have to keep pushing the envelope, do increasingly worse things to the chars, or have the chars do increasingly worse things, to keep the stories interesting. This is why I tend to fan more avidly on the status quo shows - no, there's not a lot of character development in SGA, but they started out pretty good guys, and they've stayed that way (give or take the occasional and soon-forgotten moral hiccup), and I like it like that. Though the unspooling dramas do have their train-wreck appeal. ...Also I am getting the urge to do a pic-spam of all the Grant hugs. Because there are a lot of them, and where else are you going to get a younger DH glomping people, and guys stroking his hair? (Stroking his hair! So jealous!)

I don't know if they actually count as woobie, because Grant is psychologically/socially impaired; he's emotionally about eight and so he tends to hug & cling like a little kid does. It's still awfully cute, though...

Oh, that scene was so sweet! I love how Grant tends to bring out the best in people around him. You just can't be mean to Grant. Even Adam can't be mean to Grant. XD

Hubby and I still haven't watched the show beyond the end of season three. It's not that we hate it; it's just that the darkness you mentioned was really getting to us.

Yeah, the darkness is a problem I've had with dramas before. We stopped watching The Shield midway s4 and have been meaning to get back to it, but haven't yet in part because it was becoming so grim. Right now DH-love and momentum might take us through Traders, though it depends on how s3 ends up...

Just to warn you, the darkness will continue in Traders (as you no doubt guessed). I really, really love that show, but as the seasons went by it got harder for me to deal with the changes all the characters went through.

Yeeeeah, I accidentally got spoiled for a later-season death that made me nervous about what is to come. I might be able to last with Traders - I'm not fanning on it, so I'm not as invested in the chars and won't care as much about their fates, but drama reaches a point that it stops being fun and becomes painful...

I've recently stumbled over your Lex-nalysis and boy were they wonderful. I was just starting from the earliest and every single word was like speaking exactly from my heart and mind. I'm an absolute Lex nutter, I adore everything about MR's Lex, and I want people to fall for Lex like I already did -- truly, madly, deeply. The truth is not even Clark fans can dispute their truthfulness. So I hope to get your permission for translating all your Lex-nalysis into Chinese and post them. I believe your Lex-nalysis will show people whom do not know Lex or whom have known him but not yet love him, even people hwom do not like him, how amazing and precious our Lex is.
